Re: Funny anti-religious Internet pics

Meanwhile .....

Hopefully Kulindahr won't take issue with this one because it is laughing at Islam not Christianity.

Cute.

But I have also pointed out some images here which erroneously make fun of Islam. I just happen to know more about Christianity.

And on that topic... if I could draw cartoons, I'd do one of people making jokes about Jesus that are actually good humor, with a panel above it of Jesus fist-bumping with the Father, who is saying, "Good one there, Son!" -- and one of people making fun of Mohammed, with a bunch of Muslims launching rockets at them.

I've always thought if your God can't take a joke, He doesn't much qualify as a real claimant to be the Creator.

Re: Funny anti-religious Internet pics

There's no fault -- all your statement does is concede that atheists are no better than the worst fundamentalists.

Beside that, there are a fair number even of fundamentalists who "[worry] about facts and truth" -- I know more than a few who became Christians because of facts and truth. Their problem is that having concluded that Jesus rose from the dead, they stop worrying about facts and truth beyond that, which is something I don't understand. There are a lot of the images here which address that, and I love them because they're based on reality.

Sorry, that should be "atheists are no worse than the best fundamentalists."

Re: Funny anti-religious Internet pics

That may be what you want it to say, but that's not the logical conclusion to your statement.

All I hear is a 3 year old saying I know you are but what am I?

Re: Funny anti-religious Internet pics

You seem to have missed the whole point of the thread. One can be amused by statements that one knows are not correct or twist religion to make the joke.

One is not amused by having to wade through all your re-quotes justifying your point of view. Surely you are not so dense to not realise that you are bogging down a light-hearted thread with your supposed superior understanding of religion. Plus of course that you are alienating every member who visits this thread.

in all of the years I've been posting in this thread I've not let the occasional posts by windbags bother me...not going to start now

if they get too long-winded and preachy, I just scroll on by or reply with one of my favorite jerk off gifs
...like this one

Maybe the thread should be put in the Fun and Games section?

and there it will die

^ Father, Son, and The Holy Toast! :rotflmao:
GOOD ONE!!

Take away the lower half of the picture -- the Bible doesn't make any claims about science.
No, just alternative facts about the history of science - or, at least, a timetable-misleading interpretation of what God's "days" actually ARE (not WERE - they're all eternal and concurrent). (Yes, I'm saying that as a Christian...)

And the next line is "Just shut up and listen to what I quoted!"
BECAUSE I SAY SO. Do as I say, not as I do.

One is not amused by having to wade through all your re-quotes justifying your point of view...Plus of course that you are alienating every member who visits this thread.
I welcome, at all times, Kuli's points-of-view, even those that I disagree with. I respect them entirely (as well as respecting the person behind them, who I've met a few times, entirely as well). His viewpoints are self-made and STUDIED/sussed-out well, and so many people just follow "party platforms" and such, and Kuli has definitely been malleable to new facts, as I've also seen before.

Re: Funny anti-religious Internet pics

That was perhaps true until the eighteenth century, arguably in the nineteenth, no longer true in the twentieth.

So far in this century it seems to be true, thanks to Islamists.

I'm not sure of this is more religious or political...

but given the content, I;m not sure there's much difference:

Re: Funny anti-religious Internet pics

One day, Moses, Jesus and an old man are golfing. Moses steps up to the tee and hits the ball. It goes sailing over the fairway and lands in the water trap. Moses parts the water and chips the ball onto the green.

Jesus steps up to the tee and hits the ball. It goes sailing over the fairway and lands in the water trap. Jesus just walks on the water and chips the ball onto the green.

The old man steps up to the tee and hits the ball. It goes sailing over the fairway and heads for the watertrap.

But just before it falls into the water, a fish jumps up and grabs the ball in its mouth. As the fish is falling back down to the water, and eagle swoops down and grabs the fish in its claws.

The eagle flies off, and when it is over the green, a lighting bolt shoots from the sky and hits the eagle. Startled, the eagle drops the fish. When the fish hits the ground, the ball pops out of its mouth and rolls into the hole for a hole-in-one.

Jesus turns to the old man and says, "Dad, if you don't quit playing like that, we're not going to bring you next time."

Just as believable as any story in the Bible

Only if you ignore history, archaeology, and science.

This is the most ridiculous decision I have ever seen made on JUB. All you had to do was ask Kulindahr to stop his spamming of this thread and we could have continued happily along our way.

What a ridiculously complicated way to totally fuck up one of the best threads that JUB has ever seen. Why don't you just stop humourless cunts from posting their pro-christianity biblical-defense bullshit in this thread in pathetic attempts to derail the humour, instead of hurling it into the abyss of F&G. Threads like this deserve to be in left in HT.
This decision is a prime example of why JUB is rapidly turning to shit.

Re: Funny anti-religious Internet pics

I respectfully disagree with Opinterph's critics.

As much as I usually don't agree with Kulindahr's opinions on the topics, I understand a message board to be primarily about conversation. Perhaps I'm wrong about that, though I think there's no doubt that farips are by nature simply 'fun and games.'

I'll remain subscribed, and I hope johaninsc remains as dedicated as ever.

By that reasoning my Splendour thread would be thrown into F&G as well.

That would be the end of me here as i'm afraid this bizarre decision will be the end of Johan here.

Re: Funny anti-religious Internet pics

MTL, David, Hoodie and Cormac, I couldn't agree more. The thread should remain here in HT and Kulindahr's attempts to ruin the thread should be moved to the religion forum, and if he wants to continue replying to every post he can do it in a thread there.

Like Cormac said about his Splendour thread, all the threads he and I have made in HT the past month would be relegated to the F&G forum, and the little action we've had in HT the last month would be gone. It would be reason enough for me to leave too. I know another forum that would appreciate the traffic we bring.
