Discussion Thread from the Funny Anti-Religious Pictures thread.

Re: Funny anti-religious Internet pics

MTL, David, Hoodie and Cormac, I couldn't agree more. The thread should remain here in HT and Kulindahr's attempts to ruin the thread should be moved to the religion forum, and if he wants to continue replying to every post he can do it in a thread there.

Like Cormac said about his Splendour thread, all the threads he and I have made in HT the past month would be relegated to the F&G forum, and the little action we've had in HT the last month would be gone. It would be reason enough for me to leave too. I know another forum that would appreciate the traffic we bring.

My efforts are aimed at making the thread a place of quality rather than trash. It's amusing to see how bigoted the accusations against me are.

This post above is a good example: threads are here for discussion. If my comments belong in the religion forum, so does the entire thread.

Actually your comments deserve to be deleted and you should be warned for spamming and baiting but I'm not a mod and obviously the mods here are on your side.

But you can stop baiting me to argue, Ernest Angely. I'm over it. You're the first person that's earned the right to be on my ignore list in the 12 years I've been here. Bye Bye

I find it shocking that all the hours and effort Johan has put into finding new pics to keep this great thread going can be so easily thrown aside due to the trolling of a religious zealot.

Hopefully Opi will think better of his rash decision and if possible ban Kuli from this particular thread or indeed HT altogether

Opinterph is on Kulindahr's friends list so that's not going to happen. You can see by the decision exactly who Opinterph is siding with. The is one biased decision.

What utter bollocks!

You just can't stand the though of people laughing at your religion.

Your pompous, pretentious, censorious, policing of this thread is designed purely to try to derail it and stop people having fun.

You are precisely the type of controlling, humourless, zealot that give religion a bad name.

Troll!

Ah, I get it now.

So people who disagree with you and point out errors should have their posts deleted. Wow.

Every thread here is here for discussion. They can't be designated "No contrary views", or "No correcting false information".

"Religious zealot"?

Since I have pointed out errors in cartoons attacking multiple religions here, the only way to maintain a "religious zealot" label is if you just hate religion and don't want to hear any facts contrary to the ignorance in some of the cartoons.

And even if I were a "religious zealot", are you seriously maintaining that people here should be shut up on the basis of religion? That's something that should have gone out a couple of centuries ago -- in fact, it's something Mohammed banned in Medina some fourteen centuries ago. By the measure of fact, it seems you have a long way to go to even match the level of integrity achieved in ancient times by one of the religions you despise.

Re: Funny anti-religious Internet pics

Hopefully Opi will think better of his rash decision and …

rash: marked by or proceeding from undue haste or lack of deliberation or caution

I started my deliberations 10 days before the announcement. During that time period I reviewed key aspects of the thread; including its history, the apparent intention of its creator, and a detailed analysis of all posts added since January 1st.

IMO, the decision is most unfavorable to Kulindahr. It deprives him of the option to challenge posts directly – without the hassle of quoting from one sub-forum and responding in another.

A fellow mod offered one reason for leaving it in HT, but I would like to hear why other members think Fun & Games is so undesirable for this thread.

The evidence of my posts in this thread contradicts you. There have been many very insulting cartoons posted that I haven't touched because they aren't based on falsehood, and I have contributed more than a few myself. And from the evidence, you'd have to assert that I can't stand people laughing at any religion, since I have pointed out errors in cartoons against several.

Thus, logically, what you are expressing is the thing called bigotry, since your attack is based not on the evidence but on emotion.

That is insulting to opinterph and shows a failure to pay attention to how he acts or posts.

True enough. In a public situation, such an action would be termed censorship -- but when it comes to religion, the crew here seems to approve of censorship. Indeed, they should be applauding the decision since it will take from them any responsibility for listening to truth; then they can go on insulting Jews, Muslims, and Christians without having to pay any attention to facts.

Ignorance apparently is bliss. Defense of ignorance, though, is childish.

Re: Funny anti-religious Internet pics

Re: the reason we don't want it in F&G is because it will quickly fall to page 2, and posters that don't venture to F&G (which is most of HT posters) won't see it.

If I had posted the fact thread in F&G it would have gotten 2 responses. One from Cormac and one from Rareboy. It's been very active and HT posters had fun with it. It will eventually die down but won't last like this thread has.

If this thread is moved to F&G, the comments that you want to remain in HT should be moved to The Religion forum. They certainly don't qualify as HT if this thread doesn't.

Re: Funny anti-religious Internet pics

... but I would like to hear why other members think Fun & Games is so undesirable for this thread.

Well, to join in the attitude being shown by the whiners here, I'd have to guess that they don't want to have to share with people engaging in honest fun, since their preference is to degrade others without having to be challenged.

Actually, I would oppose its being in Fun and Games because its main thrust is acting in ways that they would object to strenuously if it was aimed at them. Ridiculing others on the basis of ignorance doesn't belong in a forum based on good humor.

F&G is a dead zone, apart from about 10 regulars like dynk, and like dynk most of them don't actively engage in threads beyond posting one or two words in the long running threads, none of the people who regularly post in HT go near the place, it's the Siberia of JUB.

Why would Johan or anyone go to the bother of finding pics to post when no one will see them and there will be no feedback, I just can't see any other reason for this thread to be put in F&G other than for it to quietly die of neglect.

Please think again.

Re: Funny anti-religious Internet pics

That implies discussion.

Feedback to me implies, great thread and perhaps some general chitchat.

Not the full on attack Kuli engages in endlessly

I don't see any other reason for you sending this thread to F&G other than to kill it.

I think it's an absolute insult to Johan, I know how hard and time consuming it is to constantly find new pics to share and the thought that all that time and effort was for nothing is heart sickening.

Re: Funny anti-religious Internet pics

Okay, let's see what other folks have to say.

I will hold off on any changes, until further notice.

Re: Funny anti-religious Internet pics

In my humble opinion, opinterph should step aside from the decision on this thread based on a biased friendship with Kulindahr. If other mods think it should be moved, then let it be moved. If they think it should stay, let it be.
