The BP divestment caught my attention today.

We have instructed our investment broker to divest of any investments that have a Russian connection at any loss.

Please do the same.

Thanks,

rb

all the bartenders i know are dumping their russian liquor. everybody's like BuT tHeY AlReAdY pAiD fOr It. that's not the.... here's a dollar go get yourself a snickers from the vending machine.

Russian twists will be banned next.

So I just spent some time with my investment advisor this afternoon looking at all the companies we have investments in and unloading any with exposure to Russia.

Didn't lose any money and it felt like taking a bath and feeling cleaner...even though at the end of the day, even with a largely ethical portfolio....money has no real conscience.

I don't have any Russian investments, but I do have money at the bank. What are the chances that good old NatWest have invested in Russia on my behalf?

I see that Shell has divested of Gazprom as well as BP dumping Rosneft.

All well and good but remember that any local Russian owned businesses in your town had nothing to do with the invasion so you should make sure they're not pro-Putin before you hurl a brick through their window.

Yes and thank you for bringing that up. That is why we ended up spending time on it...looking into the guts of the holdings....although I can guarantee you from what we've found, 100% of the connections are dirty.

Mastercard and American Express bowed out today....but there are still some pretty big names doing business with and in Russia.

Beauty Products:

Estee Lauder
CoverGirl
Rimmel
Max Factor

Household Products:

Kleenex
Kotex
Cottonelle, Scott
Huggies

General Products:

Coca-Cola
Pepsi
Herbalife
Bunge Vegetable Oil
Marlboro Cigarettes

Fast Food:

McDonald's
Papa John's
KFC
Pizza Hut
Burger King
Starbucks

Gasoline:

Chevron
[STRIKE]Exxon/Mobil[/STRIKE]
Luko

Most McDonalds in Russia are company owned. So raise hell.

Exxon Mobil says they are pulling out.

We know that tobacco companies and giants like Coke and Pepsi would do business with the devil.....but we should make sure there is a public reckoning for any western brand that doesn't pick the right side.

Companies that have pulled out:

Only temp. But....

But Tik Tok has banned Russians from uploading videos.

So at least the disinformation csampaign from the paid mini KGB 'influencers' is at an end.

I have mixed feelings about that because it goes both ways. It also prevents Russians that are sympathetic with Ukraine from being able to respond.

Popular Russian restaurant in NYC --business has plummeted and I don't think they are pro Putin

Luko is a Russian company and would not stop any business in Russia.

Just like right after 911 people attacked the Sikhs or anyone who looked vaguely middle eastern.

^ I feel badly... a lot of these restaurant owners aren't even 'Russian' just trading on the brand.

I would go out to any restaurant that advertises that they would kill putin.

I have this weird quandary though. My favourite afternoon tea is 'Smoked Russian Caravan' and I have drank it for over 40 years.

It is for all intents and purposes a blend of balck teas and Lapsang Soochong.

I can't even bring myself to order more.

So I get why some people are having a visceral reaction.

^ If you find yourself thinking of Putin etc. during your tea, then you should probably stop drinking it it. Is it a Russian product? In comparison to all the behemoth businesses pulling out of there, boycotting it will have more of an affect on you than anything else.

....And Russia just lost KFC and Pizza Hut as Yum Brands shuts down in Russia, although the restaurants are owned by franchises and individuals and I suppose as long as they can keep getting some supplies can continue to operate

It will "redirect all profits from operations in Russia to humanitarian efforts," provide additional support for Ukrainian franchise employees via a disaster relief fund and donate "$1 million to the Red Cross to support those affected by the crisis," Yum added.
