Do gay people really go to hell???

You made a pronouncement that was flat-out authoritarian, like the Pope does with "infallibility" -- that was the point of my comparison.

And if you read what I actually wrote, I said arguments about it aren't helpful -- which is true.

All you had to do is follow what I read.

Yes it seems I grasped the wrong end of the stick regarding what you intended to imply. Embarassing myself in this manner is what I tend to get for staying up late after an already taxing day at work. I apologise :)

No prob.
At least you were in the right thread... I've posted some arguments about one thing in a totally different forum, even, not just a different thread. ](*,)

Moral: get some sleep! :D

(or move to Fun and Games).

basically, it's just like the rumor that men with a big cock is superior than those with smaller pee pee. It's only human to create ideas to make other people feel small just to make themselves feel big inside. Since when did God hired them to take the Lord's seat for Judgement Day? They should worry about themselves since the sin tickets won't exactly make up for their sins. lol

So, like...

"You're going to hell -- you're gay!"

"Damn -- and I'll have you for a neighbor."

Which doesn't answer the question, but does point out that there's a major problem for a lot of people in even thinking about it -- they give a knee-jerk answer, not a real one.

You know, i overheard some str8 guy saying that being gay is a one way ticket to hell. Oh please. Im not the most devoted christian but i believe in a god. Im fill with more goodness then some of the ppl i know who goes to church. Being gay is not a sin. And going to church doesnt make you good and deserving of heaven.

sorry to err worry yu youll, but its been found that it doesn't depend how 'good' or 'bad' you are for people to report having HELLISH NDEs.....

so, what does this mean?

well what it means for ME. that we folks, are in this UNFATHOMABLE living dynamic mysterium. we're in it and ARE it. each doesn't cancel the other out.

Now for 'it' to have depth, you/it has to have all possible potentiality from the lowest lows, and sub lows etc, to the highest highs. All forming a multidimensional dynamically evolving round, which manifests to us as opposites. ie., tomorrow u may feel uop, next day down, next MINUTE down....next hour up, and so on. you may have MIXED emotion.....is common

But dont worry. Nothing is static/(!)

Personal "goodness" is irrelevant to going to heaven. What's at issue is whether being gay constitutes stubborn rebellion.

No church which can read will say that going to church makes you good -- going to church is like going to the doctor for regular shots against a nasty disease.

But... if gayness isn't a choice, how can it be stubborn rebellion?

...Now being gay doent mean you have to have sex with another guy or other guys full time as this is a lifestyle choice and i personal one...

Yeah and being straight doesn't mean you have heterosexual sex, being good doesn't mean you have to do good acts, being a child doesn't mean you have to act like a child, etc, etc.

This supposed choice between gays, who don't act gay and go to heaven, and gays, who act gay and go to hell, makes no sense unless you believe that acting gay is wrong.

all forms of experience exist....yes hellish experience exists, as does heavenly, pain pleasure. thing is these states are not static. the christians tried to say they were as have most patriarchs, espesh the christians withtheir everlasting hellfire. but as said ....no, they are not everlasting. nothin is. but we need both extremes for the depth of life and death

We'd all see each other in hell, it'd be just like jub in hell, if that's the case.
But seriously, I read it in the bible myself that homosexuality is a sin. I dont remember the chapter or verse,

Bible doesn't say that.

Se ya in heaven

It's always helpful in dealing with the testimony of others to consider the source.

Sometimes the things one can read in one part of the Bible don't seem to be in harmony what one finds in other parts of the Bible.

I don't much like the God (that is the testimony about God) I find in lots of chapters of the Old Testament book I Samuel. I find that the testimony of the writers of the Four Gospels on God is much more satisfactory, and Paul's letters are filled with thoughts to which I can utter a loud Amen. Jesus is reported to have summarized the whole law of God in beautiful brevity: Love God with heart, soul, and mind; and love your neighbor as yourself. I'll stick with that and know right off that I can't begin to shape up accordingly.

We all fall short; that is: we are all sinners. But that's what the Gospel deals with when we are assured that there is forgiveness by God through the life,
death, and resurrection of Christ. "God was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself and has given to us the ministry of reconciliation." I don't presume to be up to that either but I am comforted by Paul's injunction: "Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling and know that God is at work in you both to will and to do His will."

When I was 15 a new guy moved to town; we were both juniors in high school and became good friends; as it turned out we became more that just good friends, we came to the point of real love and that love led to two wonderful years of life that was real living. I was his lover; he was mine. We had mind-blowing sex, homosexual coupling to its fullest. And you know what? Though
we are no longer lovers; we still love each other deeply.

And further, do you know what? We thank God for the wonders of love which we knew way back then as that part of our God-given sexuality was made clear to us
both. Neither of us ever thought of our relationship as a life-long possibility; he met and married a great lady as did I, we have wonderful families. We don't cheat on our wives, but, believe me, that old feeling is still there and is sweet in memory for us.

Now, shall we start repenting for the days we were lovers; actually we're grateful that we had the experience. Love is not to be denigrated whatever way it is manifested. If the rest of the world hasn't yet caught up to view our homosexual love affair in that light, that's their problem.

No one is outside God's mercy and forgiveness. I trust God who provided caring hands to greet me at birth, who made me with the capacity for love, both with a man or a woman, and who is Love Never Failing . Surely that kindly Creator and Preserver in life can be trusted to deal kindly with me beyond this life.

I'm comfortable with the life God has given me. I could go on--but I won't. I just wanted to get my testimony down on this thread before it fades away.

Peace!
