There are few Western New Yorkers here myself included and all are quite nice I think.

I Lived In New York All My Life Until A couple Days After Sept. 11th, I Lived In Tribeca.

I was wondering the same thing. There are lots of guys here in L.A., but I hardly ever notice anyone in NYC. By New Yorkers, I assume you meant the city, not the state. RicanDAB used to live in NYC, but not for a while, I think.

Thanks Lars,

I was born and raised in NYC, lived there until I moved south in Aug 2006. I may be here but my heart is still there :luv: ... and by the way, so many NYers down here in FL I sometimes feel like I didn't leave much behind.

.. and I'm never in CE&P [-X ...

I didn't realize you were such a recent emigrant! When I lived in San Francisco, almost all of my friends were ex-New Yorkers, although actually some of them were from NJ, but close enough for a short commute. I've noticed that Italian NYers tend to go to SF while Jewish NYers tend to come to L.A. I guess that's because SF has North Beach, and L.A. has ... Hollywood? Whatever the reasons, I pretty much like all NYers, whether they have left NY or not, and I've always found this a bit strange, considering that I was raised in rural central Texas. I think Texans and NYers are very compatible, and my Italian roommate (from Queens) in SF would say that most of his friends were from Texas while I would say that my friends were from NY. He also thought that he had picked up a Texas accent from me, but only his mother could tell. Actually, his Sicilian grandmother couldn't tell the two of us apart on the phone, and I think I picked up his accent rather than vice versa.

Hell yes, like a swarm of borer bees.
You can find them almost anywhere. Look at th avatars
and read the fine print. Most of them are so vain that they
do everything but list a street adress.

If you go to sports and look at the Thread posted by
Bradlee titled, "Reasons by the Yankkes Suck" you will find
that they have posted. They are not in a very good mood
of late, time is running out on their pennant hopes.

There are a number of central New Yorkers, like Ronboy, a mod who loves the Buffalo Bills, and would like to screw Losman the quarterback, and I think he is already a bad quarterback, and a number of western New Yorkers from the Buffalo area. Yeah.
Like I said, a virtual swarm of borer bees, including one humpy newbie, who posted in the amateur pics the other day from Niagara Falls. I do not remember his user name, but it is something like fallsguy. OK? Happy hunting.

I've wondered for a long time about the fact that there are very few posting Jubbers from the places where gay men congregate.

My theory is that, if you're gay in a large city, there are so many opportunities to interact with other gay men, joining/posting on JUB isn't a priority.

Many posting Jubbers seem to be from more isolated areas in terms of the gay population.

Also many are fairly young and/or in the closet. They don't have the opportunity to meet or interact with other gay guys.

It does seem this is less true of Canadian Jubbers, since a number of them seem to be from more densely populated areas.

I certainly could be wrong about this, but after a lot of thought, that's what I've come to believe.

We have a central New Yorker here in the heart of the Fingerlakes!! Not sure if you are looking for NYCers but we are very welcoming in this area. Not as much to do as in the city but we all make do.

That makes sense, I guess that's why some people take all postings so seriously and there's so much drama. I guess JUB is their life because they don't get to have real life dramas like gays in big gay cities. After all, the gays are notorious for being drama queens:D

By the way, a New Yorker here:wave:

I exist here. I live in Manhattan, always have, always will.

It's a hot place to be.

Hello from Westchester County New York...

I'm a New Yorker, and frankly a little insulted by some of the comments on this thread.

NYC was named the most courteous big city in the world.

Below is a ranking of the most courteous to the least courteous -- 35 major cities included in RD's Global Courtesy Test. Figures reflect the percentage of people who passed in each city. When multiple cities had identical scores, they are listed in alphabetical order.

Zurich Switzerland 77
Toronto Canada 70
Berlin Germany 68
São Paulo Brazil 68
Zagreb Croatia 68
Auckland New Zealand 67

I think that everyone can be part of that 20%, especially to the tourists when they:

1. Walk 4-5 across the sidewalk, r-e-a-l-l-y s-l-o-w.
2. Stop walking in the middle of the sidewalk.
3. Not stepping off the curb when they have the Don't Walk.
4. Expecting people to stop so they can get a photo.

I am sure I forgot many.
