I think a day rarely goes by here at JUB where a JUBber hasn't expressed some kind of self loathing sentiment. Should they be silenced, too?

I have explained exactly what I meant, chance1. You're the only one making the assumption that lower communication skills is somehow an indicator of someone being less intelligent. A person can put in very little effort into their grammar and still be very intelligent. A person can still be intelligent and make assumptions and not have the courtesy to provide proof and sources. It just means they are a poor communicator, with little regard to the respect of others or willing to make the effort to have a fun and engaging discussion.

Is it no wonder that such abuse has resulted in a disproportionate ban of Republican members on this forum? We had one member who would only create threads and post links with no commentary. When asked to clarify the point he was trying to debate, he would refuse to answer and then create a new, ambiguous thread. We had another member who insisted gay Republican groups were legitimate and would become very mean and personally abusive to other members during prolonged debates. I can also think of another long-standing member who baited and trolled this forum with obnoxious and irrelevant threads. The list goes on. It's not my personal bias on the matter, chance1. It's the historical reality of discourse within this sub-forum. If you want to claim this is because the "liberals shut out" the Republicans on this forum, then you're showing a lack of respect to the integrity of the moderators here on this board who have had to make that tough decision on permanently banning a member here.

i don't have all the data on banned member and their political affiliation but i know of a handful of progressive assholes who are no longer here and i'm glad as they were on constant personal attack of "non like minded thinkers"

Nothing wrong with "not like minded". Plenty of those around here that I actually respect. But I personally treat gay Republicans (NOT gay conservatives, but REPUBLICANS exclusively) the same way I would treat a black guy who violently hates other black people. To the question at hand. There were people during the last election who I strongly suspected of being plants. Since they showed up toeing the party line then vanished, apologists for the right were the actual motivator for me signing up, but I think they were probably cabbies, not straght.

Plants? You mean like that guy who posted almost non-stop with threads about Hillary Clinton claiming he was just a supporter of hers? I remember I accused him of not being at JUB for any other reason than being a mouthpiece for Hillary and to solicit votes for her. He denied it, but when she lost, he vanished. He toed the party line, too, but Dem plants probably don't bother you, right?

No This thread was about SUSPICION of those who sign up only to post in CE&P. It didn't say anything about those individuals deserving less rights then others here on JUB. It is really that simple. Humans are free to suspect or discuss anything they please. It happens EVERYDAY.

Those who sign up and never post ONCE we can suspect do so to view porn or certain topics. Possibly message others? There are many reasons why they may, and I know that itself has been discussed before.

If this is going on, and it probably is to some degree in certain places - people being what they are - I don't think it's a very good strategy.

I've yet to see one political board that changed anyone's mind. Mostly in places like this, we shout to congratulate ourselves on our own opinions, then dismiss anything else.

Looked to me like he was saying that for one reason or another, Republicans on this board aren't making use of the skills one really ought to have for discussion in an internet forum. It was kind of wide-open: are they just lazy? do they not care? are they less intelligent? is it on purpose? does it somehow result from being Republican?

I probably missed some possibilities. But it seemed that the cause didn't matter; the point is that for whatever reason, Republicans aren't showing skill in discussion.
