Listen to some you uptight prissy dwissy queens, talking about how you think it's scary to meet a stranger on Craigslist. Since when did the gay community get so highclass, that having sex with a stranger became taboo? Granted, if you have the means by which to do better then do so, but the gay community isn't very far removed from the days when the local gay newspaper, in many cities, was an 8 1/2" X 17" printout folded in half, and the front page was an article about nothing and the remainder was photos of who was at the bar on Friday/Saturday night, and the classifieds and the only venues for gay men to meet were, bars, bookstores, bathhouses, public restrooms, parks, truckstops, Santa Monica Blvd., etc. Out at school and/or on the job often equalled NO FRIENDS or NO JOB, respectfully! I can see plenty of reasons why random sex with a stranger would be taboo for some; just as that seems to be the norm in the straight community. However, I've had a few one-nighters myself and the idea of just logging onto a site for sex sounds awesome. Unfortunately, most of the ads I see are from people who probably wouldn't have such an easy time just going to a bar and getting someone drunk.

I've posted a few ads in the past but nobody seems to be able to read past that bit where I mention I'm not going to get naked for anyone who's ten years older then me or more and has quadruple my body mass. Stuck up, maybe a little but that's not going to change my tastes. I really do with more people (at least on CL) would start to go after people their OWN age.

I love the unknown aspect. I have used CL for sex for about 6 years, in a Detroit Suburb and the town I live in now pop. 33,000. I have hooked up 20 - 25 times - and have had a ton of endless emails that didn't lead to anything. I have never had any problem, I realize there is always the potential same as picking up a stranger at the park or a bar. I try to be aware and don't dwell on the negative and hope for the best. Thankfully the guys I've met were just as horny as I was. I always do the posting and usually I host. I never send a picture and I never ask for one. If that's a deal breaker then, oh well, on to the next one.

Raaaaandom, but:
For like a whole year this 30-something year old guy (we'll call him J) has been posting in the Misc romance section trying to find a boyfriend. I'd always stumble on his ad and wish him well on finding a boyfriend. Basically, by some point I had come to memorize his stats and biography because he posted on craigslist so much.

Anyways, roll up to last month at a Hole concert, I'm waiting in line to get in and lo' and behold, J gets out of his mom's car and walks up behind me in line. It was a very surreal moment. Here was this guy who I knew soooooo much about but who had no clue who I was. I kind of just stood there laughing in the inside debating on telling him how I'd seen his numerous ads.
In the end I didn't. But after meeting him in the flesh and talking to him, I understand completely why he is still single and continues to post on craigslist.
Alright, that's actually pretty creepy of me when you think of it but I find it hilarious.

Actually what's the differnce between craigslist, adam4adam, manhunt or gay.com? I know guys who cruise for one night stands on all four(no pun intended) and one's a part time hooker, in these tough economic times. Take a look at this sight alone! I never brought or use any services from craiglist i just like to look at the houses for rent/sale and the pets section and free stuff.
 
One time traveling I posted an ad for a hookup. Got several responses and did VERY careful screening. Settled on one who invested time into lots of emails and setup. One of the hottest nights ever.
 
I found that on gay.com, I could set up a profile with a picture and was able to search a lot easier. I'm fully aware there are guys on there who just cruise for sex.

As far as the 10 guy thing, there are a lot of things we like to see in porn that we wouldn't want to do in person. There's also the idea that if you're doing it in porn there's a level of safety that isn't there when you're posting on Craigslist.

i use craigslist to sell cloves that i get on ebay at a 66.6 percent mark up.

it's nice and keeps me active around the city.
 
I've only ever just read the posts on there, never responded though. I think it's Jat Leno that has a bit on the really weird craigslist posting. I remember this one about a guy looking for someone to go back in time with him. He actually said the last guy who went with him on one of his "trips" didn't come back! :eek::eek:

I check it out from time to time. There are some pretty hot stuff on it so it is a fun read. Only hooked up one time off of it and it wasn't bad at all. Wouldn't recommend it though. In reality you are just as likely to be wronged on CL as anywhere else on the net.

No, I don't use Craigslist. There is just something about that site that makes me uncomfortable, I don't know what though.

Well, I wrote to him.. just asking.. did not get his reply till the next day (long after the noon timeframe).. not sure what he needed the money for, nor am I sure what eneded up with him.

I am pretty much attracted to any guy with a hardon, they don't have to be drop dead gorgeous. Attractiveness is not just in their looks.
