hey it's very easy to get ur bf to Vietnam as a visitor, what you need to do is contact a travel agent in Vietnam and ask them to send you an approval letter (1 month, 3 month) and then print it out, take it with you and show the Vietnam immigration at the airport and pay the 1 month or 3 month visa according to your AL. cheers!

and btw, I think Vietnam is a safe country for tourists, gay people are also fine there and you are more than Ok to stay anywhere you want ( better be close to all the tourist places) you dont need to stay near the US embassy at all LOL dont worry too much, just go and Im sure you guys will have lots of fun. I dont live in Vietnam now but just pm me if you have any questions about visa and places in VN.

To be fair, I've experienced and observed both sides of the coin with regard to how asian gay guys are treated by the gay white populous.
Basically speaking, my observation has been that an asian guy has to fit into certain categories to have a chance during the gay mating season. They are held to a much higher standard than white dudes.
When I was dating a latino guy, we got looks from both straight and gay people. Be honest, just how many latino-asian couples do you know or know of? When I was dating a black guy, people stared at us in wonder. Heck, I got my stares and odd looks while I was dating a black guy than when I was dating a trans.
I think the gay community has gotten too used to the asian guy being effeminate and twinkie. Unfortunately, I ain't no twink and I ain't no fem. My current boyfriend is the embodiment of the kind of guy I go after... skinny, slightly effeminate, etc. He's white, though, so we don't get too many odd looks from people.
