Do you agree with Jesse Ventura's statement?

Do you agree with Jesse's take on his generation in the same way about gay rights instead of Vietnam

It's not irrelevant.

You defend your peers who (as a voting bloc) are bigots. And I said if my peers were Neo-Nazis, I wouldn't give a damn if you criticized them.

It's actually related.

I would only defend Neo-Nazis if I was ashamed of what my peers did or if I believe in racism or anti-antisemitism.

Back to making stuff up, I see.

I don't find that surprising from someone who has done anything for gay rights except engage in attacks on others.

I got something for you too!

You know how earlier you tried giving older voters a pass cause they're socially conservative.

Do you know what racist segregationist Strom Thurmond called himself.... yeah, you guessed it. Now would you excuse Thurmond's views on race?

Cool! ..|

At least you're paying attention.

Too Bad "Dixiecrats" no longer exist, and if they do felt sold out by LBJ's "Civil Rights Lesislation of 1964," and have since become Conservatives within the Republican Party.

Hell, Dixiecrats aren't even "Reagan Democrats."

I'm sorry LostLover, if you haven't figured it out by now, I'm a little slow, old, and senile, if you trying to make a point why don't you just come out with it. :D

Oh, and prior to Obama's election I declared myself a Yellow Dog Democrat.

My Grandpa was probably a Dixiecrat, but continued to vote Democrat regardless of the 1964 Civil Rights act. ;)

I wonder, if someone had collected data to show that more blonds voted for Prop 8 than brunettes, would Lostlover also be angry at the blond community? Rather than focus on the highest statistical factors of religiosity and political ideology - you know, the things that actually influence how people vote - we could all get angry at those nasty blonds for voting against us.

Equally useful discussion. ;)

Yep.

Far more interesting, and edifying, to contemplate the existential implications of your avatar. :square:

Which reminds of a now favorite quote:

That's two great quotes in one thread! You should be named ... Centexquoter!

Well, maybe not. :-)

What did I make up?

Go ahead. Take shots at young Neo-Nazis. See if you get a reaction from me.

This makes me believe you're sympathetic to the poison your peers believe in. It's all becoming clear now.

You must be in hell now with a black president.

And did I ever say I haven't done anything for gay rights? Now, who's making things up?

^ What's extraordinary is that you refuse to answer the questions posed to you.

You criticize all older Americans because 2 million 65+ Californians voted YES on Prop 8. You extend that criticism into any demographics older than your own when it suits you.

Yet you refuse to acknowledge that 3 million 18-30 year olds failed to vote at all. And that another 1 million 18-30 year olds also voted YES. Totaling over 4 million 18-30 year olds who DIDN'T vote to accept gay marriage.

Ultimately, there are many factors to blame for Prop 8's success, including failures by those who were organizing the campaign against it. I could understand your beef if there were numerous threads here vilifying 18-30 year olds - after all, they're clearly not the only problem.

But in the real world, there are many answers to every question, and many solutions to every problem. Constantly blaming a big issue on a small group is, frankly, stupid. Whatever you might choose to believe, Prop 8 won because of a list of reasons, and the age of voters is very insignificant on that list.

And did I ever say I haven't done anything for gay rights?

You didn't even respond to the question. What have you done for gay rights?

What did I make up?

Your usual slander about people defending bigotry.

Go ahead. Take shots at young Neo-Nazis. See if you get a reaction from me.

I don't know any young neo-Nazis.
I used to know some members of Skinheads Against Racism, though.

This makes me believe you're sympathetic to the poison your peers believe in. It's all becoming clear now.

Now you're fantasizing.

You must be in hell now with a black president.

Alfie's right -- you're delusional.
You also exhibit poor memory capacity.

And did I ever say I haven't done anything for gay rights? Now, who's making things up?

You've failed to answer the question, though it's been directed to you by several people a number of times. If you can't answer that simple a question, the plain explanation is that you've done nothing -- otherwise, you could just type, "I participated in AIDS Walk 2007 and raised $5.95", or whatever.

.
I ask you what I made up and you give no specifics.

Have you not for the past two months been defending the most bigoted group when it comes to gay rights? True or false?

Cut the bull Kuli.

Bullshit and you know it.

I said earlier in this thread, "can I answer the question by saying what I haven't done?" and of course you didn't respond to it cause you know damn well what I'm going to say.

Cut the bull Kuli.

I gave a very specific answer -- which you know, because you responded to it.

But, again, your claim is false, and fabricated.

It's your tactic when called on your bigotry: you make up false charges against others. Though that may be a bit harsh; you probably actually believe these fantasies you spin.

I said earlier in this thread, "can I answer the question by saying what I haven't done?" and of course you didn't respond to it cause you know damn well what I'm going to say.

In other words, you avoided answering the question. I did in fact respond, by calling you on that. You've been called on it by at least three of us, and still haven't responded.

If you'd done anything at all for gay rights, answering would be easy. Since you've been asked over and over, and all you do is dodge, the reasonable conclusion, the almost inescapable conclusion, is that you haven't answered because there's nothing you can say.

Sometimes people don't answer because they have something to be ashamed of, but I can't think of any reason someone would be ashamed of what he's done in fighting for rights. Now, if you've blown up a government building or something, I can see your hesitation, but you don't seem the type to take such action -- honestly, you don't seem the type to take action at all.

Now if I'm wrong on that, all you have to do is say what action you've taken. We're not looking for fireworks, here; a few letters to the editor or to your congresscritter, collecting signatures for a petition, standing up for gay rights in front of strangers by trying to explain reality to them....
Yelling at seniors won't count, BTW; bigotry doesn't play well as advocacy.

LMAO. I ask for specifics and you write this!

Folks, Kuli's been sippin' the Kool-Aid again!

That's tacky. Who does something noble only to brag about it?

That's tacky.

Dude, just throw in the towel. You keep getting your ass handed to you.

As I thought: you haven't done a thing for gay rights.

Nor have you been helpful on this forum: you've exhibited bigotry, and spend more time slandering others, whether individuals or entire groups, than contributing anything constructive.

There's nothing "tacky" about answering a simple question. I answered it, others have answered it -- you're hiding... and pretending that hiding makes you noble: "Your honor, I can't answer that question, because it might make me look good".

All you're about any more is blaming others, and degrading them. You live in this fantasy world where you always win, even though people who agree with your views have pointed out that you're being negative, that you're getting in the way rather than helping us all get ahead. When pinned down on facts, you attack the people who posted them, when pinned down on logic, you attack the people pointing it out, when pinned down on your bigotry, you change the subject or retreat to a position you never took. When anything at all doesn't go your way, you invent things to charge people with, to direct attention away from yourself.

Now you're just showing you can't read: I gave specifics, and you asked where my specifics were... so I pointed out that you had actually responded to the specifics, and you asserted I still hadn't provided specifics!

Now, how about answering the question?

Where did I say I haven't done anything for gay rights?

Find me where I said that NOW!

Folks, he makes claims that he knows are lies and he continues to lie. He's down for the count.

^ I think the fact that you didn't say ANYTHING about gay rights is the problem, actually.
