Do you drink water from a bathroom faucet?

The result? Of the 24 toothbrushes, all 24 tested positive for poop germs- thats 100%. Even the 2 control toothbrushes they stored in the kitchen cabinet tested positive for fecal germs!

that's because they are everywhere. and when you shower, you spread them all over your body.

The water here is quite good, I do not even think twice about drinking it out of any of the taps. I agree with the OP, the water coming out of the bathroom faucet is not being drawn out of the toilet.

I also use bathroom tap water to brush my teeth. I would drink out of it if I had to, but I don't since my kitchen is nearby and has the Brita pitcher in the refrigerator. My water is generally not bad tasting, except during summer it can get a bit funky.

I brush my teeth and use the water from the bathroom faucet but I dont drink it.

I get water delivered from Alahambra

Tell her that she drink toilet water ALL the time.
That is the water cycle !!!

Not long ago, the Discovery Channel Network aired an episode of its continuing show called Myth Busters. The show features two guys who investigate the truths and untruths behind urban legends. On one edition of the show, they tried to debunk the claim that toothbrushes are rife with germs, especially fecal germs. Conducting their own investigation, they tested the claim that nasty germs jump from toilets to toothbrushes by either airborne or direct contamination. They tested 24 toothbrushes and 2 controls that they themselves used for 30 days. The result? Of the 24 toothbrushes, all 24 tested positive for poop germs- thats 100%. Even the 2 control toothbrushes they stored in the kitchen cabinet tested positive for fecal germs!

i just use mouthwash after brushing my teeth. lol

My water is very possibly full of farm chemicals and such, so I don't drink my own water from anywhere...I refill one-gallon jugs at the supermarket. It sometimes crosses my mind that I may be absorbing stuff I'd rather not absorb, by bathing in that same water...

But if I did trust my own water, and let's say that my pipes froze and I couldn't get any water out, I wouldn't have any issue with drinking water out of the water closet in the toilet.

I wouldn't drink anything from the bowl, though, no matter how clean it seemed, without obeying my own "boil order" first.

Would you drink water from the toilet - assuming the toilet were cleaned and flushed? It's the same water that comes out of the bathroom faucet isn't it?

Come on no its not. The water source is the same but the device is totally different. First the clean water usually comes into a unsanitized/sterilized storage tank on the back of the toliet. At that point the potable water becomes non drinkable. When you flush the toilet the water in the tank is then sent into the bowl and new fresh water enters the storage tank.
On a faucet you are using the water directly as it leaves the pipe, there is no storage like in the toilet.

No one has cats or dogs that drink from the toilet?

C'mon.

Has anyone had a vet that warned you not to let your pet drink from the toilet?

Are there public service messages on TV about this? Flyers? Posters?

Some homes feed the bathroom faucet with water from the water softener. It's disgusting to drink, so yeah, it can be different.

In an emergency sitation, a person could use the water from the back of the toilet tank to drink ..I think the warnings about pets drinking from the bowl are if a person uses bleaches or detergents (blue water) which could potentially harm the animal..

I have a friend who doesn't refuse to drink from the bathroom faucet but instead claimed the water tastes different than from the kitchen.

A 20 second experiment proved him wrong.
