Fish has always been a health food.
It will be interesting to see what the
effect is over a generation or two of
excessive eating of meat, fish and
daairy products
But a half century ago and more,
we did not think of ourselves as vegetarians.
Being poor, you ate what was seasonally
available. Crabs from the Chesapeake Bay
were not eaten in months that did not have
an r in their spelling. Strawberries were
available in May or early June. Today it is
different, but is it better?
I believe the best argument for fish is the
apparent good health among people from
islands and island nations. Japan comes
immediately to mind.
