Do You Ever Wish You Were One of the 'Breeders' ?

i think i wish for it more than i'm willing to admit to myself.

but i know that's because i'm still somewhat young and i still haven't gotten to any of perks of being gay.

The "perks of being gay" are more available to the young, actually, though there is definitely a link to how long you've been "self-aware", so to speak, and how long you've been out.

I loathe the term "breeders"....it is disparaging, condescendiing, and full of derision. We came from them...are we going to despise our parents? Our friends?Family,neighbors,co-workers?Not all heterosexual couples are souless, hypocritical, dysfunctional, conformist automatons who go thriough their lives in worthless desparation....we should know better than to generalize and stigmatize and mock all who are different from us.

That said, the straight married in the suburbs with kids life isn't for everyone.Being straight isn't for everyone.I'm gay, would love a partner...but think I wouldn't have the patience or discipline to be a very good parent. There are great families who come from straight parents, there are messed up ones...same I'm sure with gay couples with families, life isn't simple or easily definable.

Nothing wrong in itself with straight couples and raising families....not crazy about the idea of suburban life.....but I'm gay and would not change it.Being gay certainly doesn't preclude having a family, but that part I really think isn't something right for me.

This is not necessarily accurate. Many of us could have come from homosexuals as parents. Being straight doesn't make procreation exclusive. Many homosexual have been forced into heterosexual roles as a means of survival. And it's not meant to be melodramatic that statement but factual.

There are seats of power that straight men control that gay men will never be a part of if there isn't some militancy from gay men. For example, will there ever be an out and proud president of the United States? When the notion of a black one is so far fetched? We live currently in a society where racism is a faux pas but it does not keep racism from taking place in other subtle ways. Only recently have gay rights and gay issues come to the forefront, but not because of any real kindness from a heterosexual public. It is because capitalism has found a way to make a niche market from gay consciousness. Gay men are portrayed in media to be nothing more than self-absorbed shopaholics. Well if you have a person shopping till they drop who benefits? The large corporations that are earning that.

In order to gain power, some power has to be taken away. When slavery was banned, it meant that white man would have to give up its power over those he was enslaving. Straight men on the other hand have no desire to give up their dominance over sexual politics. This is obvious in that gay men need an exclusive channel in order to be represented on television. And yeah there's "Will and Grace" and "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" but do you see these gay men engage in sexual acts with each other as gratuitously as you would in straight television? Will you?
Look how accessible something like straight pornography is as opposed to gay pornography? Why? Because straight men don't want to see that stuff and we have to cater to straight male sensitivity. Beer commercials are horrifically demeaning to women and serve a purpose in educating the proper gender roles to keep certain people in power. Straight men.

So if gay men refer to straight men as breeders etc, they almost seem justified to do so don't they? Afterall, isn't that what makes heterosexuality justifiable in that theirs results in procreation?

Nope, can't say I want that life.

What I do want, is to move into a nice house, preferably a custom built home, in the country side near a lake, with my boyfriend.

No fences, just open field and water.
Fences feel too much like barricades.

Oh, how nice that would be.

You should have rail fences -- they're rustic!
And if you run short on firewood, you just cut up one of the rails....

my brother has 4 young kids, and i love being an uncle, but i'm not sure if i'd want to be a dad. i do get along well with kids and think i might be a good parent. but i'm gay, i'm not going to have a wife that's for sure. kids? i doubt it, but who knows. i'm still young.

Having a spouse and kids doesn't guarantee that you will be "taken care of" in your old age! My Mom is extremely lucky that I take care of her. My sisters do absolutely nothing to help.

Similar position here -- my siblings do nothing, either. Sometimes they seem like vultures, already grabbing bits of what mom and dad have before they're even gone.

These are the same siblings, of course, who think I'm wicked, sinful, immoral....

does "righteousness" so often come with stinginess attached?

I'm an uncle, but with my "lifestyle" I'm not considered "safe" for the kids to be around.

If you want kids, don't wait too long -- I wouldn't mind having a son, but now, by the time he'd hit college, I'll be retiring.... Though I really wouldn't be much of a dad to him from birth to about twelve or thirteen, prolly.

I plan on getting married and having children.

But luckily I'm bi so it's not like I'm lying you know, to my wife.
I'm attracted to girls and guys.
So I'm thinking
Have my fun, until i find the right girl and settle down.

You know?

Up until a few years back I was fascinated or obsessed with the idea.

Really, what was I thinking? Really.

There is no part of me that wants any part of that world except for the picket fence that I bought 10 years ago.

I have the love of my life. Two incomes. A great house...picket fence included. And a wonderful selection of nephews and nieces to spoil whenever the mood strikes. I get to travel on at least 4 vacations a year and have relatively few real responsibilities or stresses. My straight guy friends tell me all the time that they wished they liked cock. And i don't think they are saying it to be kind. They'd love to have my life. But I've already claimed it, thanks!

And will you be informing your wife to be of your attraction to cock ?

I imagine she'd like to know beforehand.
