So a bunch of my buds and I are throwing a Play Party in Los Angeles next month.

The Yard Party is a regular event thrown by the Los Angeles Band Of Brothers where guys can just hang out together, dance naked, have some kink play in the dungeon or the sex rooms or right out in front of everyone.

Wear your sports gear or your favorite fetish gear. Hey, wear sneakers and a jock strap.

I've had some people tell me they can't wait to go and some people are just horrified that parties like this happen.

Who here has been to one?

Well... yeah, that would be kinda shady.

We're supplying lube and condoms. And we'll have a "Cigarette Man" walking around with a big tray with Condoms, Lube, Cigars, handiwipes, Anti-bacterial lotion, Breath Mints and Candy. Oh, and pens and cards in case you wanna get someone's number.
 
Due to our weather being cool to hot year round, most of our parties are held outdoors in private homes with pools or gay guesthouses.

I'm sure there are some in sleazy dirty locations.

The first few I went to I just hung out in gear and talked to friends. It was pretty cool hanging out in my rubber clothes, surrounded by men in various states of undress and action... while having a cigar and a beer and talking to guys...

And yes... very classy.
 
i was never invited but i think i would go if i was invited just of curiosity, i heard that celebrities throw this kind of parties...
 
for me, sex is something you share with your partner in private. lush parties with drinks and entertainment and sunshine is something i want to share with my partner, friends and family. i don't want to cross the two. i don't find sex and intimacy to be a group sport. but that's just me.

Yeah, they're certainly not for everyone. When I first heard of play parties I was pretty shocked.

But now it's just some fun for me although I seldom play at play parties... I just hang out with buds.

This. I want sex to retain it's full emotional/psychological meaning, and while I don't think going to sex parties or bath houses or hooking up frequently necessarily changes that, it certainly seems like it would have a powerful potential to.

I mean, for Christ's sake, they call it "playing"--the language itself betrays the reduced importance of the act, an act that I believe should be pretty damn significant, since physically speaking, it is the closest you can get to another human without being their Siamese twin. I'm sure sex-as-a-handshake works for some people and is probably a hell of a lot of fun too, but I want to make sure the act always remains a really special bonding experience, so I'm selective about who I do it with.

Meh... not every one is fucking... most people aren't.

But you'll have guys who enjoy maybe a flogging scene.. or a circle jerk.. maybe getting bound and mummified... or other kinky things. Certainly not "making love."

But like I say... it's not for everyone... but if you just wanna allow yourself a little sexual abandon... now's your chance.

I unclenched a lot on this when I realised that I like watching porn... which means I like watching sex when it is not private and just shared between two people.

Then I realised that I don't consider myself better than porn actors just because they let me watch even if I wouldn't be comfortable doing that. I get a kick out of their exhibitionism, and I would think of myself as a hypocrite if I didn't at least cheer them on.

So, for all you exhibitionists out there, have fun, be smart, stay safe. As far as me going to a "play party," I don't think I would sit back so I could become "circle jerk target practice" but as long as guys enjoy showing off and didn't need me to join in, I could see myself going to something like that if my guy was interested. Hell, it would be another story to tell.
 
10-12 years ago I went to 2 of them. I did not know that was where i was going at the time. I was with a friend that told me that they were parties.....I assumed regular parties. One was during the White party in palm springs. I remember my friend taking me to this 2 story hotel room...I think it was called the marquis...or something similar to that. I thought that it was strange that there was a line to get in the room. When we got in, my friend took me upstairs and the room was just full of people having sex, it was super hot up there...I think they may have had the heat on in the room, and everyone was so sweaty. There were so many people in the room, that you had to squeeze past the sweaty people to get back out of the room. Someone was bragging out how many were not even using condoms....I was so grossed out. I got out of both of those places as quickly as I could.

It is not something that appeals to me but I have a friend, maybe 2, maybe 3, that may be interested in your event. Yes, a couple of my friends are whores ;) , but safer whores. I will forward the information on to one of them.
 
I fantasize about going to them, but i do not know if I'd have the guts to go to one. ....actually, I probably would think that I have too BIG of a gut to go to one! LOL. I'd want to be in better shape before I go to a party like that. (though I HAVE been to bath houses in the past, so I am not sure why it would bother me.....;))
 
Some people think of sex as an intimate bonding between two people and some use it for recreation. You can do both. A sex party like Jasun brought up is recreational sex. It's doing something that's exciting and fun. It's a party. Expressing love between you and your partner behind closed doors is another thing entirely. I've done both.

I attended several sex parties hosted by a bondage & leather Daddy. Where he found some of the people who appeared I'll never know, but they sure were fun and exciting. I'm not really into bondage but some of these guys were. I live in a college town and near a large military base and "Jim" would find these guys. A lot of burly soldiers would come wanting to be tied up, blindfolded, and violated by every man in the place. There were naked muscular bodies everywhere, some tied up, everyone doing something or having something done to them. Attitudes were left outside the door. That was recreational sex.

However, when my companion and I were together, it was intimacy, love and behind closed doors.
 
For me those kind of parties are like tattoos

I admire some of them, when they are fun and original, but I would never get one myself.
