I'd like to drive fast on open, empty roads, but in the city and on highways I drive extra carefully because I don't trust other drives and I don't want to be the reckless driver who wipes out a family.

Canadian roads aren't engineered for those speeds. It could be accomplished safely in certain long boring stretches, but I don't recommend it. I know I've hit 150 passing on divided highway, and that was fine, but I would want improved driving surfaces, third lane for passing, and elimination of level crossings to enjoy those speeds. I have been on some proper German highways, though not driving, and the high speeds seemed much more normal there because of the conditions.

Fastest I've ever driven is 145 mph (233 kmh) in a Porsche 911 a few years ago. When I'm on the Interstate I'll go 90 mph + in rural areas. I like to get where I'm going.

i do but after that ticket last week, i'm slowing down. :( i love speeding and i would say that i'm mostly a safe driver.

I am a pious little prick nowdays, I drove my diesel 2000k last wk and managed 5.1l/100. It can manage 210 kph and is an excellent car. I replaced the front pads at 140000 k, surprised me. The law is manic here when it comes to speeding, just not worth it.
I used to work in R&D for a car maker and we never drove cars more than flat out ! In outback oz you can find 200k stretches of straight road but they have now put a 130 kph on them now - some BS about speed kills or a license is a privilidge not a right.

Nope. Too many times I've been passed by racers only to end up at the same time at light; exit; destination; intersection.

I have a VW GTI, it is a fast car and I drive it as such. I however watch my speed within City Limits

I had an american muscle car, 5.7L V8, with greek plates. Greece has speed limits but no one enforces them. Near where I lived on the southern coast of Athens I would run into a few guys that liked to race. I knew the limit of my car and while driving fast on the seaside cliffs on the way to Sounio can be very dangerous, I never pushed it. One Lamborgini owner would pass in oncoming traffic! Thats when I called it quits.

I would get very polite notes from the german police about where I should park, I thought this was nice. (in greece, we park on the sidewalk.) The autostrada and autobahn are fun to drive on, engineered for speed. In greece the roads are very windy and packed with traffic.

I now drive a jeep, sadly not made for speed.

Everybody gets those  But in most towns/states the police doesn't give you those ticket because they only care about the moving traffic. One exception that I know of is Berlin.
