So started my first full-time job a while back now and I have to say, I love it. It is a pretty unusual job that always leaves me with atleast one interesting story at the end of the day. Although I wont go into the details about mine, however, I will say it is an intense job that involves a high risk of injury--I get attacked on a daily basis that leaves me with bruises, scratches, and teeth marks all over but also gives me such an adrenaline rush. So I was wondering if you guys had any stories about past or present jobs you have held that you care to share?

At the moment, it's a paycheque.

I only really care for two or three of my co-workers...

The others seem to suffer from a severe case of "Let's shrug our responsibilities to the new guy" syndrome.

Which was a major factor of me quiting my last job...That and their hardline capitalist nature which I disagreed with.

Are you a preschool teacher?

well who wouldn't love working in a cold, dusty, rat infested stock room every day during the week from 7pm-12:30am with the company of str8 men who think a good laugh involves farting at eachother, throwing boxes at eachother and calling eachother gay... its paradise

I have to work surrounded by porn stars who always greet me with a hug.

I have regular masturbation breaks.

My hours are great and I have a bunch of palm trees swaying in the breeze next to my ofice window.

That´s not a job, that´s permanent paid holidays  Besides, that would get boring after a while ;)
I understand there are so many of them in the US... even the people who would name you a "smut-peddler" would do some kind of permanent-paid-holidays sort of job themselves.

Hell NO!!! It's dirty, stressful, and in severe need of some sort of climate control!

but i'm glad that you like yours :D

I "HAD" two of the best jobs every..........and they actually paid me to do something I loved to do and would have done for a lot less than they paid me; but who am I to turn down lots of $$$! lol

My first job was an Air Force fighter pilot. A very, very
stressful, difficult job; but once mastered, unbelievable, awesome RUSH!

After retirement from the fighter pilot job, I got a job back with the Department of Defense as a Range Safety Officer, where I had the responsibility of ensuring that aircraft performed training on the range, shooting their guns, dropping weapons and my only job was to work the calculations to make sure NO ONE was injured from the test/training or none of the bombs/bullets left the range where impact intended!

See? If I had remained healthy, I would still be doing my second job; but sometimes fate takes charge and your life is altered.

So, I look longingly at two great jobs where I was doing something very important; plus both jobs were shit hot!(*8*) (*8*)

Yes I do like my job. It is stressful at times, challenging, sometimes long hours, but very rewarding. It involves knowledge, daily learning, practical application, interfacing wth people always and a goodly measure of art. Yeah it can be really good.

I like my job, I'm not madly in love with it but I like it.

I work for the biggest sports newspaper here and as I like sports in general it's a pretty cool job, I get to do what I'm interested in.

My co-workers are cool too :)

I am working MY dream job! I finally got into a position where I can cook, and have s little interaction with the public. Of course, like every job, there are good days and bad. Stupid people to deal with, but overall its the best job I've ever had!!!

I hate my job. The only one who I really care for is our local DHL driver.

i do my job

love it?

i don't love seeing people in pain, but i find the process of helping people communicate with their health care proffesionals rewarding

I'm a surgical nurse and I do love my job...but the stress level is pretty high.
I try and take a week off every three months to try and avoid "burn out"
Before my partner and I settled I was a traveling nurse..would go where nursing
shortages were high..thats were the herenthere came from.
Overall its a great job...

I used to love my job, my customers were great they really appreciated what I did for them, solving their problems, advising them, tailoring systems to their needs but the company took me for granted, never appreciated the amount of my own time I spent researching solutions, never got round to ordering the equipment I needed. They let my customers down by not passing messages to me. I had to hand out my personal phone number to them so they could get the service they needed. Engineers like me were leaving for the same reasons. In the end I was one of only 2 engineers left while the company bickered amongst its self about the lack of man power. Final straw was when the other engineer went on holiday and I was letting customers down because I couldn't respond to their needs, so I resigned. Now they call me every day to try and get me to come back, and I would love to but not until they get their act together. Ex-customers ring me saying I should start my own company and I am seriously considering it.

Shit sorry I've been ranting but needed to say it to someone.!oops! Please forgive me and ignore. (*8*)

Why in the HELL is it so hard for companies to figure out the need to take care of their faithfull and hard working employees. You hear of this crap all the time..
Go forth my friend, and start your own business..sounds like you really enjoy it!

I don't love my job but I have MARVELOUS co-workers that make it better :D

Not sure about my job. Its pretty good, most of the people there are great but the company is a bit rubbish and I shiver when I consider that I might be there another 30 years.

Think its time to find something new. (My trouble is I never had any idea what career I wanted to do)

I mostly love my job.... but there are times I hate it. I love 2 of the people I work with and like the rest.... its mostly enjoyable but sometimes I want to throw myself against the wall and scream.

I've worked the same job now for almost 18 years. Do I love it? I would probably never say that I love it. It does however provide me with some benefits and is fairly flexible. Not the same kind of benefits that Soilwork enjoys, but we can't all be that lucky.
