I'd always thought that was the whole point: 'Look at me blatantly proclaiming my religiotard affilition!'

I mean, I could walk down the road and no one would have the slightest idea what my personal beliefs are .... on the other hand I could dress up in some ridiculous attention-seeking garb ... much like the New-Age arsehats and Wiccan-wankers (usually American tourists) who march up and down Glastonbury High Street, fairly near my home town, laughably working overtime to advertise their pseudo-pagan fucktaradary via the dimensions of their ridiculously over-sized pentagrams (point-up, naturally) ... or I could wear a turban like the Sikhs, a yarmulke or kippah a la Jew, a saffron robe like Krnsa/Hindu/Rajneesh wannabees ... or whatever.

Personally next time I visit a beach I think I may well be tempted to deck myself out in this sort of trashy drag...

There's nothing particularly misguided about a hatred or mistrust of Islam ... or any other primitive fascist totalitarian mind-control war-cult for that matter. The misguided view is the regressive-leftist apolgetics for this vile ideology. According to recent polls in UK even 'moderate Muslims' ™ appear to be overwhelming in favour of capital punishments for fags.

People driving down the highway in Chicago may be met with a giant billboard reading, “Hey ISIS, you suck!!! From: #ActualMuslims.”

The billboard is part of an “ISIS Sucks” campaign, launched by a Muslim American non-profit organization.

The Sound Vision Foundation bought the billboard as part of a larger strategy to challenge extremism and Islamophobia.

“We launched the campaign in light of the constant pressure on American Muslims to condemn ISIS, especially since Muslims are the biggest victims of ISIS,” explained Leena Suleiman, the director of creative engagement at Sound Vision.

OK, how about we gather every single Muslim in the world and shove them into the middle east. Once there, build a 100 foot tall wall around them. Will that satisfy the haters? No, they won't be happy unless they can nuke them.
 
How about people use common sense and find middle ground, and vet them properly before you open the flood gates? It is a tenant of islam to want all infidels dead.

I don't mind women wearing a diving suit (as one Dutch woman described her own gear) in se, but I hear a lot of women saying, under their breath, "as long as I'm not going to be stared at for going topless, like normal". And that's what the whole controversy boils down to: no-one minds a diving suit among 100 topless women, but when the diving suits start to outnumber "us", than "we" are going to feel estranged.

BTW, I refuse to use the term *burkini* because as long as the face is not covered, it has nothing to do with a burqa. So I'll go with diving suit, like the Dutch fundie.

This idea is stupid and a middle ground isn't vetting a specific group of people. It's not like one group of people are the only ones capable of being violent.

Though I am not expecting the same individuals who parade these kind of thoughts in these threads to understand the double standard here.
