I wanted to try an idea for a thread, please try to think of something that is different or is gone and list it, I will start with:

Do you remember when... you had to ask for condoms back at the pharmacy window?
I always got an embarrassed woman, I had to ask her for pre-lubed with a receptacle end, she would then stuff them in a brown bag and ring them up, I always checked as it was not unusual to be given any old condom that she could grab.

I remember when I had to ask to be excused from the table after a meal.....now I just get up any ol time i feel like it...

Do you remember when using a telephone and you would pick up the earpiece from its cradle, hold it to your ear, turn a crank on the right side to alert the operator that you wished to make a call, and then speak the number into the mouthpiece when the operator said, "Number please"?

Not only do I remember party lines, I remember our first telephone number. It was 3 digits: 445. Our neighbour across the street was 416.

I even remember having to flip a cassette tape over to listen to Side 2, and I remember not having to flip over 8-Tracks to listen to all 4 tracks. (Unfortunately, it sucked having a song fade out to silence, then waiting for a 'click', then waiting again for the rest of the piece to fade back in.)

Any of you have a department store put the live x-ray scope on your feet to show you how well the shoes fit?

It's amazing that after 44 years, the shoe industry has not been adversely affected by the removal of the fluoroscopes. Sales gimmick, perhaps?

In 2014, when I have dental x-rays taken, I have to wear a bib containing lead. I wonder how many shoe customers ended up getting cancer back in the day?

I worked in service station then and we also use to give out trading stamps and sometimes dinnerware.
