No, I am in a sitting position. Many years ago when I was in Thailand, they had toilets low to the floor that you squatted over. I would think that this position would be hard for older people to balance, but I see your point.

Balance might not be so much a problem as getting back up.

I used to grew up with squat toilet and even a toilet that directly has hole to the swamp ( in fish eating-restaurant) Tbh I was a bit struggled when I moved here..I wonder "why americans dont wash their ass with soap and rinse it with water after that?"
I thought that way is cleaner, I ALWAYS get rash when I just wipe dry my ass with toilet paper.
