Im curious how many of you still use a vcr and/or a tape player to listen to tapes?

I still have a vcr and still record stuff from the tv. And i still listen to cassette tapes

All my vintage porn videos are on tape and I still have a pile of music and such on cassette tapes.

Even more importantly, I have recordings (both video and audio) of my grandparents, my parents, my high school band, and other such things which can never, ever be replaced.

No, its like everything disappeared after 2003...weird

I bought a tape player some time ago to convert my old tapes into MP3s.

The last time I used it to watch a video - it was unwatchable, the quality compared to the DVD or hell, even pay per view, is crap.

I've still got one of these...and it still works! ..|

I actually am looking for a new VCR because I still have a lot of movies on VHS that aren't available on DVD yet. I need to stop by the thrift store to see if anyone's donated one lately.

yes i still have a tape player dont used it tho i gave my vcr away many years ago

I have a vhs tape of a trip that my friends and I took while traveling (sp) around Guam while I was stationed there, 20 years ago. I know that there are places that can convert that to cd/dvd but I haven't done it yet. I also have a vhs of my niece's birth, not the actual birth, but everything that surrounded it. Those are the only two reasons that I have a VCR. When I get them converted, I won't need it any more.

Yes to VCR
No to cassette

Quick story
way back when i just started buying VHS movies having no VCR, then i bought 1
Then some time ago i started buying DVD's way before i bought a DVD player, whats next? i dunno!

I have both DVD players and VHS players hooked up to my TVs.

What I'm going to watch/record determines which I use.

no to both, although i do have a laserdisc player still hooked up to my home theatre. couldn't throw away the 100+ discs i had so i tracked down a new player in its box on ebay. works great!

The one VCR I have left doesn't work anymore. (If you try to insert a tape it chews it up, spits it out and shouts 'go fuck yourself' in a voice that sounds strangely like Joan Rivers...)

But, I keep it to prop up my bedroom TV so I can see the screen over my feet. (And massive, throbbing cock...) while I'm lying down.

Below it is a drawer full of old porn tapes from the 90's that I don't have the heart to throw away.

In terms of cassettes, I have two Nak Dragons (Google it) that I still use to play the approximately 1,000 Grateful Dead shows that I have... And obsess over....

i actually still use my VCR to record programs on TV since i dont got tivo. i dont have a cassette player, but a good friend of mine has a really old car that plays only cassettes so he puts his mp3 songs on cassette tapes so he can listen to them in his car.

Really old and plays cassettes? Nah, can't be that old.

How's about this?
