  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Do you stock anything for company?

Well, this sounds good! I'll be there in a few hours!
On second thought, maybe not, now that I've read the post above more closely, and have seen this:

My freezers are also very well stocked with coffees, nuts, desserts, casseroles, and other items that could be thawed and either warmed or cooked from raw, like a turkey, steaks, chicken & dumplings, and seafood.

Don't want to risk becoming the next turkey in the freezer!

In fairness, guests "dropping in" wouldn't be local. It'd be family or friends calling to tell me they'd come by on their way somewheres, likely days before the visit, so I would indeed have the necessary time to thaw a turkey.
Or zombies. If it's a zombie apocalypse then it would be zombies "dropping by", in which case you might have to sacrifice a few turkeys to keep them occupied while you run to the shed to get the rest of your ammo.

Yes.

I keep a well-stocked liquor cabinet even though I generally do not drink, as well as a dozen varieties of wine.

Also, I always have a range of pastas and sauces in the pantry if I were to need to feed a crowd at the drop of a hat.

My freezers are also very well stocked with coffees, nuts, desserts, casseroles, and other items that could be thawed and either warmed or cooked from raw, like a turkey, steaks, chicken & dumplings, and seafood.

If guests come unplanned, I'd still be going to the store to get things, but I always have a prepped larder so that I could generally feed them for days without buying it all.

The guest bath is stocked with all sorts of specialty soaps, new razors, toothpaste, mouthwash, and unused linens to make anyone feel pampered. Also have a few sheet sets still in the packages, but would wash them if using them the first time. There's also a silk robe and slippers in the guest bedroom closet.

Nice.

Your post reminded me I do keep new cheap toothbrushes as well. I personally use an electric.

I thought, “hold on while I thaw this turkey for 3 days”

:ROFLMAO:

To be fair many people around here seem to keep them in stock. When I worked I was in charge of all the "wet" foods for the grocery department at the grocery store I worked at. I did most orders. During the holidays turkeys were a loss leader. The store I worked at alone sold about 100K turkeys just from November to Christmas. We also sold about 100 every other month year round. People stocked up.

A few years ago I kept stocked up on pepsi for a friend that often came over. I only drink diet soda. I also have a couple of toothbrushes and paste I keep on hand...those were "free" from my dental cleaning. I just use the battery operated toothbrush for myself.

I just remembered that I have a 5yo joint and some homegrown bud stashed away. Should I have kept that in the freezer?
