  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Do you think more advantage to gays who prefer older guys and disadvantage to gays who prefer younger guys?

Our roommate (age 22) is into older men and he is the most fickle person I have ever met. I honestly feel bad for the guys who fall for him. I don't think he is typical though.

..then his best partner is another fickle old guy :-)

I don't know how other couples are, but here's our setup.

I'm 30, so I guess I belong in the "older guy" category...
Wait.

I have to make it straight...

Stop thinking like that, you're not that old ^^

It's a fact. Ok proceed.;)

My boyfriend just turned 24, so he belongs in the "younger guy" group.

Do I just date him because he's a twink? I'd like to think there's more to our relationship than just an older guy seeking a younger guy and vice versa.

We found each other online. After a year of dating, I asked him to move in with me. Might as well to save the money he was paying in rent. And since he didn't have to pay rent anymore, he could go back to school.

Does this mean he's a parasite? Again, I'd like to think not. He shares the house chores with me. I just bought a new house that needed a little reno (change carpet to wood flooring, paint job, etc.), and he's been helping me do that as well. And once he gets his degree in finance or accounting from Loyola U. in Chicago, I'm pretty sure he'll make more money than me.

My point is I'm very aware that almost everyone around us view our relationship as me being the sugar daddy and him being the parasite. There's nothing we can do or say right now that will convince them otherwise. We'll just have to wait until the day when I'll be the one leaching off his income for booze and drugs LOL.

Anyway, I'm sure couples composing of a sugar daddy and a parasitic twink exist out there. We're not that because we're working towards a goal. I'd rather him going to school now and help me with the finances later than continue with his low pay warehouse job and never going anywhere career wise.

Hmm..no, because you guys are just 5 years difference. I used to have that kind of rltship too, no big deal.
5 years is more like..big brother kinda relationship :) still struggling under similar challenge.

I think OP means 20+ age difference.

In my case, I think sometimes people assume I´m a gold digger (as my man says, what gold?), but after they get to know me, they realize it´s not the case. My bf´s family is very accepting and they are all very friendly with me; my family was a bit hesitant at first because they found creepy that and old guy would go for a much younger one, but time showed them.

Well, aren't you into older guys as well? ^^
For me, the younger I was, the harder I have to prove my good intention and the more SLIPPERY the options are (getting it wrong I might ended up as a prostitute) Unlike now, I feel Im more in charge of my decision. But if those sugar daddy crossed me out from their list because Im 28 something, Im glad to weed the perverted types too ^^

One of the main issues is probably the younger man's career. It worked for girls before feminism and more than a few who can pull it off now, because getting a husband was their career and leaving them out of pocket would have been scandalous. What happens when the sugar daddy of a long term parasite moves on one way or another? The younger guy's spent "the best years of his life" in a non-job and now he's going on middle aged and has to compete the new young generation for a living and/or another man. I expect it can work if you stay independent, but for those who don't, I'm not surprised they're flaky. So I should think the moral for older men is "Stick to boys who don't need you. Or short-sighted fools."

Word. I have little sympathy to those game for selfish reason...let them burn altogether. 8-)

All my life I have only been attracted sexually and emotionally to men in my age group...so I don't have much of an idea about either scenario since it doesn't concern me.

I know one thing...If someone called me their Daddy I would have to cease any further contact with them.

I like guys similar to my own age (I'm 54).
But I've long given up on finding one who isn't chasing after guys 20+ years younger. #-o

Is it a lust of porcelain- baby face and firm hairless skin from younger guys
which turned those daddies weak on their knees?

somebody drool? ^^

I must be insane to think the entire younger guys as undesirable. For younger guys I like them when they look phat and firm:

Well, older guys are friendlier because they have no choice.
Experience tells them they have to be friendlier to be successful

I dont think older guys are that desperate..especially the "expensive" muscle daddy types.
And btw..which of these dating profiles is far more convincing?

Name: Puppy
Age:21
"I like to having fun" :-)

Name: Daddy
Age:47
"I will treat you right, son"

Oh lord.

If I wasn't partnered at this point...I don't think I'd want anyone much younger than I am...who has the patience for people without life experience....but I suppose most of them are always looking for some trophy ass...or someone to make them feel younger again.

Some have ideal lover 'stuck' in his teenage year, while he's not getting much younger- for sample.
But that un-met ideal also vice versa for those craving older guys as well. I once know someone whose really into daddy-son role play and he's right now 'sad' :( because he's getting older/ not young and beautiful anymore to be called "son."

The two profiles are too short with no details.
I wouldn't bother reply because the puppy can something else, likewise with the daddy.

Most people make a lot of assumptions. An older gay man can't even just be friends with a younger gay guy without the rest of the gay community assuming their fucking. I say live and let live no matter who you're into, or just want to be friends with.

When I was really young- that statement was true. Super old and super young cant mix without bang

Aren't you prefer short explanation?

When i was in my 20's i always preferred an older guy. My first boyfriend was 32 and i was 24. We were together for about 4 years...My partner of 10 years, i was 30 years old and he was 42. Is just been my preference. I am 44 year old and the guy i am dating is 46.

I don't like younger guys...My ex partner did though, we broke up because he wanted a 27 year old aside from his cheating :-)

Big brother rltship ..|

If a person gets what they want and they are happy that's all that matters.

but sometimes they have bad intention :( Still not my business though.^^
What I concerned more is which relationship (dating younger vs. dating older) tend to work? I will hit 30 pretty soon and my head tells me that dating same age/ slightly older guy is the best for my stability. Am I correct? Because I tend to cross possibilities with younger guys which sometimes I questioning my decision.

Young guys ARE flaky. They will use you and then drop out of sight. They find it funny to use you real quick and then move onto the next victim like a cheap, fast and easy slut.

All I know is this one guy once called me "slut son"...and that happened to be a one way ticket out of my pants...

The thing is some people we know think that's a big age difference.

When we first started dating, he took me to a party with his co-workers. They composed mostly of young guys in their early to mid 20's. They seemed uncomfortable that I was dating him. One of them, in his drunken state, mentioned that I was a lot older than my boyfriend.

It just seems sometimes that people see us as having too big of an age difference.

If I were in the dating/mating scene my first test would be if we were attracted to each other, second would be intellect... could we have any thing but sex together? Of course this all comes after the typical character assessment stuff, if he spent in prison time looks and intellect would not over rule that.

Age would be part of the physically attractive thing. If you're hot, you're hot, if you're not you're not.
