No space for other species.

So how many humans in the world is acceptable ?

I'm doing my part to de-populate.
No gene of mine will spread ... ;)

Soon the Apocalypse will begin and the human race as you know it will be brought to its knees!!! (*@*)

But for now...

Pure B/S...there are not enough. We do need kind and caring people though.

I would support lottery based sterilizations.

The world is not getting overpopulated, we are overpopulating the world. By that, I mean that we humans have this need/desire to be around OTHER humans. It's our nature. When our ancestors came to a new world/land, they did not get off the boat, see a group of settlers, and continue traveling 100 mile further away to settle. No. They parked themselves right next to OTHER settlers. This still happens today. When most people build their home, they build next to OTHER new homes, not ten miles away from the nearest human being. WE as humans are afraid to be alone. Look at Google maps of different countries taken at night, and see just how much empty/dark land there IS in each country. Did you realize that the entire population of the world could fit (if enough dwellings were built) comfortably in the Western half of the U.S.----Texas and California.

Yes...but the 'dark parts' on those handy night-time maps are the resources we're rapidly extracting, such as forests and water. You don't have to live in an area to use the energy in another.

True, Callum and Telstra, but I was looking at it from a population overload standpoint only. It's a whole 'nother thread to debate if we have a lack of possible resources, or if there are enough resources, but just governments/people/$$ hindering the distribution/growth/potential growth in order to "control" their populence. You DO realize that we have the scientific ability to (using "produced" soil/nutrients) grow corn/fruits/vegetables in desert climates????? Many things, including $$ and greed, are standing in the way of that.

Those who survive will be assimilated? ;)

Yes... only those who manage to survive will be worthy of assimilation.
