  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Do you think the earth have too many humans ?

Way too many. Breeders need a good kick in the nuts.

For me, it's not really a question how many people can use and enjoy limited resources.

The world becomes overpopulated when we encroach on other species to the point that they become...extinct.

That sort of grotesque disregard for our surrounding world is the essence of overpopulation. It should be part of the discussion.

For all you people who said the earth is overpopulated..."NONSENSE!!!" If the earth is truly overpopulated, how come I didn't have a date this weekend?

Hmmm I'm noting that NineOfClubs and zoltanspawn both seem OK with overpopulation. And they're both living in what my friends tell me is one of the most desirable places on the planet.

Mmmm, Here's an idea, we can now turn off the ovens!

Technology is the answer!

Gene therapy will save the world! As this science evolves we can introduce a "homosexually functional gene" into an unspecified genomic location or population. We could essentially replace that "heterosexual mutated gene" that's been causing all the problems. Although the technology is still in its infancy, it has been used with some success.

Hey, it beats forced sterilization! :/

I'm glad we finally see eye to eye on something. \:/

They're all in third world countries living in huts and eating bugs.

The only reason the Earth can coexist with nearly 7 billion people, is the fact that a rather low percentage of the world's population uses resources, and creates waste, at levels comparable to the United States and a number of other nations.

If the entire world population used resources as much as "Americans and Canadians" do, it would probably be difficult for this planet to support 3 billion people.

Yes, and once my armies of cyborg death-bots and mutant monstrosities are complete, I'll be rectifying that situation.

The Scientists thought we wouldn't survive if we went past our carrying capacity but they were wrong. The baby boom seemed to dig us into a hole and poverty is at its greates now more than ever. We are already past 9 billion (or is it trillion?), and we still survive. We are a hard to get rid of species which is good and bad.

Sooner or later we will reach capacity, with the earthquake in Japan the numbers have gone down and the limit has been adjusted.

I think that number will plummet, though. We're long overdue for a world war and/or a mass influenza/incurable infectious disease.

Which scientists?

on TV showing Tokyo's Gridlock and i'm thinking ... so much humans all over the world.
No space for other species.

So how many humans in the world is acceptable ?

I think so but nothing nuclear war or mother nature won't solve.
