How many people on this thread have studied military history, or have served? I’ve noticed a few men who claim service and I thank them for it. Rangel has stated a desire to emplace a draft for EVERYONE up to the age of 42; oddly enough the framers of the Constitution had a cut of age of 45. As Jefferson put it "Militia duty becoming burthensome it is our duty to divide it as equally as we can." --Thomas Jefferson to James Innes, 1781. Papers 4:686” so passing a draft is a very progressive idea.
Rangel may be a loose canon but he is very much on the lunatic left of the Democrat party, what could be more democratic than a universal draft. While the big strong guys go off to fight the bad guys, the underweight geeks and dweebs like me get to stay home and empty the waste baskets of the great military machine. The dweebs get to labor in the factories and ultimately defend the shores of the country after all the big strong guys are used up “over there”, where ever that is. Rangel is the ultimate progressive and he intends to make everyone follow his leader if he can.
One of the myths of American history is that the sitting President at the start of all major wars in which this country (the USA) has become embroiled has been a democrat. No, I won’t post a source or citation; Google or Dogpile it yourself. This is the fable that made me vote republican for the first few elections of my youth. Then I noticed that history books didn’t tell the entire truth and started looking deeper into the past. Anyone can do it.
All wars, even this one, are the result of decades of mismanaged foreign policy.
While the USA holds it’s elections and replaces its government every four or eight years the rest of the world has been spinning in the background and moving to its own agenda. Bush and the NeoCons didn’t do anything to cause the current situation, they followed Clinton and his inept advisors who thought they would best Bush the First. Roosevelt was in office and could be argued as having started the Pacific War. Truman could have escalated Korea but at the least gave Eisenhower the task of defusing the Cold War. Kennedy nearly started WWIII just to prove a Democrat could be tough and Johnson pushed Vietnam to its limit. Look up Project 100,000 for an alarming precedent.
Nixon, Ford, Carter! One crook and two honorable men, right? Take a look at their executive orders and judge for yourself. Then Bush/ Clinton/ Bush. It’s all about the evil- doers people, and Shrub didn’t start that franchise.

Take a long hard look at Centex’s hot link; a lot of you guys are looking at the future.
Remember, vote democrat!
