Doctor Who 2011

I really really HATED this episode.
The music is so aweful that even I noticed.
The plot is all over the place and not in a good way.
There is absolutely no build up towards the so called 'dramatic' moments and nothing makes any sense.
There were far too many unfunny jokes.
Hitler spoke English for Pete's sake!

Blame Moffat. And I agree.

Only sticking around to see how the whole River thing works out.

"He's gorgeous, he's my favourite guy, he's y'know... gay"

Damn, almost had him on our side :P

Was an awesome episode and Mels was great. But it always irks me slightly when Moffat introduces things out of nowhere to serve the plot. And he is certainly good at that.

It's called bad writing.

River Song puts me to sleep.
Would have rather had Mels as a new companion.

Has Rory lost weight? His ass looks so cute in those jeans.

OK upset about that thing with Melody was totally looking for a loop hole but let's face it Moffet needed to tie it in with Forest of the Dead. Glad we are now getting River from her starting point. Have to say this season has been so much better than last years.

I enjoyed the last episode much more than the one before. This episode was shot on two locations, one being an apartment building in Bristol that I (think I) learned about in architectural history class.

I'm glad that nonsensical River Song bullshit wasn't there and that the Doctor wasn't anywhere near as "zany"' as he'd been in the previous episode.

Loved the monsters, pity most of the story was based in the real world. That kid annoyed me :|

I thought it was a snoozefest. I loved Let's Kill Hitler.

River Song is my favorite character of everyone in the reboot, including the Doctors.

There may be 2 or even 3 different "Doctors" in the last few episodes. Watch for the color of the bowties. "We're all flesh now."

That's what English kids are like.

I didn't really like the latest episode to be honest. The first 3/4 of it seemed to just drag on, not really making much sense, and in the end I felt it was a bit of a let-down.

I think it should have lasted even longer.

River Song needs to be excised from the series. I hate everything about her.

The last time I' saw anything so silly (the Doctor's daughter) I stopped watching for a long time.

I agree with this post.

Wow. The most recent episode was such a snoozefest.

Exactly. I thought it will be like the Weeping Angel arc in Season 5: spooky, well-acted and exciting.

Moffat is ruining Dr. Who for a lot of his fans.

^ Weeping Angels are one of the BEST monsters on Doctor Who! I actually really like their first appearance in "Blink" with Carey Mulligan. Fantastic episode.

Hilarious mash up of Lonely Island and doctor who

Well just watched the latest episode, thankfully nothing to do with the River Song mindfuck, but all to do with the lovely Amy and Rory, yeah the writers have finally remembered they exist,i'd almost forgotten what great actors they both were, so much so that i was near to crying at the end of this one.

I found it rather boring. I don't know - I am wondering if I am just too discerning?!

Yes, yes. Both Amy and Rory tend to recover from these things awfully quickly and you are right about the Doctor not appearing to care. This episode was a prime example. He's a lot less sympathetic and likable this season.

Hopefully, with David Walliams in next week, things will pick up? I am not holding out hope.

I kinda like this episode. It was sad and comforting at the same time. Nice change from the River Song arc.

I was very uncomfortable with the way Dr was portrayed in this episode.

I thought it was a great episode, unfortunately I didn't overly like the episode before it so this made up for it.

I found it boring too.

What and i'm not, i think one of the big problems about having any empathy with the characters is that the Doctor really doesn't seem to care that much himself about them, it's probablf down to the poor writing, i don't think i've seen Amy and Rory even have a serious discussion about their child/River Song, who was stolen from them.

I found the psychological development to be bordering on the autistic.

Yeah the trailer did look like the usual hackneyed old rubbish.

That rubbish was probably better than this.

Outright lying to his friends to manipulate them (when they are of sound mind) just doesn't suit the Doctor.

I loved the latest episode. Even though for the most part, not much really happened til later on, I thought it was really sad and interesting so I got pretty into it.

I agree about the awkward way Rory and Amy have just kind of waved off their baby. I think the show did a really poor job of justifying that - they know she'll be safe because she grows into River Song, they don't feel so bad about not raising her because they grew up with her as Mels : Somehow I don't think Amy of all people would have settled for that.

It's difficult to invest into the characters psychologically because the odd situations they are in drive the development of their character not their prior history. It gets so bad that in the last three episodes life-changing development happened with no discernable changes in the characters.
How different that was with Rose Tyler or Donna Noble.

I liked the look of most of the episode but apart from the few stunning visuals it had little going for it.

And is it me, or does the round room with the doors look like something from an old Dusty Springfield video clip?
