Doctor Who 2011

...the last episode of the season is entitled "The Wedding of River Song"...more River to be expected this season.

YAY!!

Awesome! Something tells me that Amy and Rory will stop being companions after that.

How different that was with Rose Tyler or Donna Noble.

Rose and Donna's developments, and ultimate departure from the series were both devastating to watch.

Donna's exit breaks my heart every time. At 7:14.

SPOILER ALERT

It's difficult to invest into the characters psychologically because the odd situations they are in drive the development of their character not their prior history. It gets so bad that in the last three episodes life-changing development happened with no discernable changes in the characters.

I have to agree with this. Rose and Donna were much more human than Amy and Rory. Rose and Donna had consistent humanly traits throughout their seasons. Their reactions to certain situations were predicable at the beginning and then there was growth in both of them and you see a more stronger Rose and Donna. Amy is just all over the place.

I don't think I want her to cry and moan over her child. It's not that. But being strong and having control over your emotions doesn't mean there is absolutely no mention of the child OR treating like it's fine in one episode and then "WHERE IS MY CHILD DOCTOOORRRRR!" the next.

The exclusion of Martha is your post is inexcusable, Harke.

Donna, Martha and Rose... show the next companions how to be proper companions.

Mel regenerated too early. River transitioned too early. Too neat. Too tidy. Too rushed.

Agreed. If Mels stayed all the way till the mid of the season and then transitioned, it would have been a great twist and a fantastic season.

What the doctor did to Rory near the end at the door of the tardis, was one of the cruelest things I've seen him do. If I were Rory I'd have been really pissed at him.

But it had to be done. If both can't exist in the same space, one couldn't be there.

Karen Gillan's acting last night was superb.

But weren't there like two Doctor 10s?

In that case, a second separate one was created. The two Amy's were the same one, at different points in her timeline.

So they cancel each other out? Whatever it is, old Amy is more interesting than young Amy. They should have kept her.

Ah thanks for that! She was just lovely. I love No. 1. The Doctor and Donna had some of the best scenes together.

Yes, I agree. Donna had a really humanising effect on the Doctor - and the fact there was no romance between them was just refreshing. They were best friends. Her attraction to Harkness is great though.

To get over how disappointing the past few eps have been, I went back and watched "Blink" which I consider to be amongst the very best of the the episodes. Great writing, performance. Just great.

I disagree with you on that thatgirl. For an alien who has been with humans more than 900 years and in many difficult situations, I would say he is more "human" than any of us.

You can make tough decisions without lying to that extent. A white lie, yes, but to lie to a point that someone will perish? Yeah, not very Doctor-like. Especially when Amy and Rory and Old Amy had already understood that only one Amy can exist.

I thought it was so silly of him to lock the door and then while Rory and Old Amy were emo-ing out, he was caught looking all sad and regretful. Doesn't sound very alien-like to me. He understood what he did. It wasn't cold or calculated. He lied and he knew it. It was not the outcome of the decision that bothered us but rather how he decided he should make that decision.

If you want to blame anyone, blame Nine. He set the standards of being a good Doctor far too high.

Still...

:(

I am too emotionally invested into old Amy and Rory to not blame the Doctor for that.

LOOOOL.

The Tardis and Martha have the best positions. Hitting it from the back.

Geddit, girls.

I don't know why Amy is making an O-face tho. That's fucking weird, tbh.

:rotflmao: I didn't notice that!

The best expression has to be River's.

I just found this on youtube. For those who want to revisit Donna's story but who are time-poor, here's a 90 second wrap up of all things Donna.

**** LOTS OF SPOILERS ****

ENJOY!!

I like the part where the Doctor sat down with Amy at the end and talked about not waiting anymore.

So is this the end for Amy and Rory?
