Does anyone else have a hard time getting warm?

Or is there something wrong with me?

I just can't tolerate the cold very well. I keep turning up the heat, I have a space heater at my desk blowing right on me, I have on sweats and a sweatshirt and two pairs of socks and I'm STILL COLD.

Please tell me others have the same problem. The only time I'm really warm is at night when I go to bed and I bundle up under my flannel sheets and my bigass comforter.

I don't think there's anything wrong with you. Everyone has different thresholds that they respond to. :D

Is it a generalized all-over coldness? or mostly in your extremities? Does cold water bother you (say if you get it on your hands)? What body temperature do you usually run?

I have a 13 tog quilt, so no - i don't have a hard time getting warm, but i do hate being cold!

No, that kind of cold doesn't bother me. Unless I stick my hands in cold water and I'm already freezing my ass off.

Body temp? I have no idea. I haven't taken my temp in a long time, but usually when I go to the docs for a check-up, I'm a little bit below the 98.6 norm.

Just put your pc in your bedroom and shut the door. It's like having a space heater running all the time.

btw, you should sleep with your bedroom door closed, in case of fire, you'll greatly increase your odds of surviving. ..|

...unless, of course, the fire starts in the bedroom...

Ummmm, well, very true.

I normally sleep with my bedroom door open. Unless the girls (my 2 roommates) are having one of their weird sleepovers with their men they entertain.

I live in a zoo.

God no. I'm always hot. I HATE being in a hot house.

You and I wouldn't get along very well, then, I'm afraid.

Yeah, you're probably fine. Could go see your doctor if you really are worried, but doesn't sound like anything other than being sensitive to colder temps than most people. Elvin's an example of the other end of the spectrum. I know there's been times that people in the same room as me were freezing while I was sweating, and vice versa. (*8*)

If my feet get cold, then I get cold! Sometimes sitting here my legs go to sleep and then the cold just takes over. And I have flannel sheets too! I love them. I could never go back to conventional sheets.

My room is at the far end of the house and the heat just 'drifts' out the vent, so I keep a space heater in here also.

I'm afraid not....LOL

Damn, lol.

It's funny, though, I'm the complete opposite in summer. I keep the a/c cranked.

Gawd I'm weird. I guess I just don't like the extremes. If it's too hot or too cold, I'm not comfortable.

Wow, Flannel sheets, bigass comforter? I hate things covering my feet. But my best friend "cocoons" himself in the comforter.

Yeah, like I was just telling Elvin, I think it's just the extremes that bother me. I don't like extreme cold or extreme heat.

And G'mo and Gabriel, I love my flannel sheets ;)

I don't mind being bundled up.

My hands and feet get cold very easily, and when they do, I'm just miserable... and then if my neck and face get cold, I'm cold all over. So I have these fleece-lined slippers that I wear with socks, and all of the chairs and couches in our house have blankets on them for putting over your lap. I have been known to wrap a scarf around my neck while hanging around the house... right now I'm wearing a turtleneck sweater.

I find for myself, though, that increasing my circulation, particularly in the extremities, works wonders. Take niacin (it's a vitamin), for example, it opens up the little capillaries in your skin and makes you feel all toasty warm. Also, those massaging pillows are great for cold feet, the vibrations attract nice warm blood to the area.

Mine too. My hands are always cold. And I wear 2 pairs of socks on my feet.

Good suggestions, thank you. I have a massage pillow but never use it. Maybe I should leave it at my feet for when I'm on the computer.

No, you're not alone. I nearly always feel cold; even in the height of summer I always seem to be wearing more clothes than everyone else.

At the moment I'm fucking freezing, even though I'm wearing two pairs of socks and several layers of clothing. I can't afford to heat the whole of my home so, during the winter I pretty much abandon the rest of my flat and stay mostly in my living room.

Recently, the only time I've really felt warm is when I've been languishing in a nice hot bath.

Yep, that's what I just did a little bit ago after I posted this thread, went and took a hot shower. Makes me feel better for a while because it raises my body temperature for a spell.

I was sorry to read about your little rat. I love rats, they're the coolest. I think, over the years, I've had 100's of those little boogers. But each one had his or her own personality and I loved them all :)
