For us the voters - it would be better to know exactly what the Conservatives stand for.

Now I am no supporter of the Conservatives, but politically I understand the party needs to seriously readdress where it stands on some issues. It has to work hard to make itself more appealing to the British electorate.

In the 90's the Labour Party did the same thing. There was a point where it was not clear what it really stood for. The Conservatives are doing the same now.

If they did not take a serious look their policies after three general election defeats, we the electorate would accuse them of being stuck in the past and not listening.

Ditto;

I agree! Considering the historically low electoral turn out - Labour's mandate is questionable to say the least.

Let's hope the other political parties can get their acts together and stop the Labour Government riding 'rough shod'.

I am not sure I want the Tories back either; I just wish they would get their act together so as to offer an effective Opposition.

That way the Labour Government could be kept in check. A strong Opposition in British Parliamentary Govt' = Better Govt'.

thats actaully a really good point. Personally i think tony blair has done an excellent job and i wish he would stay longer, but as hes not i think they need to refresh things and start making the public see that they are once again the best thing for the country, if only i was in charge! ;)

Sebbles,

I am glad we agree on the above point.

I too agree that Blair's gov't have done some really good things for this country. I do not however see it through 'rose tinted glasses'.

The Labout Govt' has lost its' direction under Blair. Unfortunately he has found it very difficult to draw a line under the war in Iraq. Blair has also lost the trust of a big chunk of the electorate too.

For the Labour Parties sake - it needs a new leader and fresh direction.

...who knows, perhaps you would do a better job if you were in charge !
