Well, for one thing, I missed the original thread, I didn't see it. I would have made at least some comment had I seen it.
I listen to country music along with many other genres from different eras and such. On my "mix tapes" (which are C-90 audio cassettes) I think there's an average of two country songs on each, possibly a little bit less than two...but, again, it includes all kinds of music. Besides country, it can be "golden oldies/rock and roll", soul, individual classical movements, rockabilly, spoken word, old commercials, punk, jazz, disco, [early] rap, sacred/spirituals/gospel, comedy and novelty, foreign (even from places such as Tibet, Ghana, Syria, Peru, Fiji, Panama, etc.), avant-garde, adult contemporary, classic rock...as long as it's "good" I like all of it.
I make my mix tapes TRULY "FREE FORM" with no emphasis on any genre of music (except, it coiuld be argued, there is probably a somewhat higher percentage of rock&roll, disco, and soul).
I should say that I like COUNTRY AND WESTERN - what I prefer is the really traditional stuff such as Hank [Williams, Thompson], George Strait, Hank Snow, Johnny Cash, etc. But people like Johnny Paycheck, Charley Pride, Olivia Newton-John, etc. are also in my taped files.
