Does anyone read books?

I just finished "The Lost Symbol" last night and it is amazing. I couldn't put it down! Next on the list David Baldacci's new release "True Blue".

Glad I read your post. Love David Baldacci, read "First Family" over the summer. Can't wait to see what "True Blue" is like. Borders here I come, although it will be third in line, I'm actually 100 pages in "The Lost Symbol"

May not be literature but I'm currently reading City Boy: My Life in New York During the 1960s and '70s by Edmund White. I find books about the sexual revolution, specially about gay men pre-Aids fascinating.

Next week I'm going to a reading by Augusten Burroughs. Will pick get "You Better Not Cry: Stories for Christmas" signed to read later.

I'm currently reading.

'1st to die' by James Patterson, the first in his line of 'The Women's Murder Club' series.

I will be getting through them all, eventually.

Kinda haphazardly juggling three books.

Ladies and Gentlemen: The Bible!

I Have Fun Everywhere I Go

The Art of War

It's called something like "Samurai Weapons and War Tacticts: 1150 - 1910". Informative, but a bit clunky to read.

I recently finished reading "My Lives" by Edmund White. It's an autobiography of his life. It was an interesting read.

I enjoy reading James Patterson's books. I've read all the books in the "Woman's Murder Club" series and also the "Alex Cross" series.

I'm currently reading "Before Night Falls" by Reinaldo Arenas. It's a book selected by the Book Club.
I had seen the movie a long time ago when it came out. The book and movie are very different.

Next, I'm planning on reading "The Lost Symbol" by Dan Brown. I want to read and finish the book before the movie comes out.

I just started Stephen King's "Under the Dome"

I'm usually working on 4-5 books at the same time. Currently

Needful Things, my first Stephen King.

The Serpent and the Stag, history of the Dukes of Devonshire. This one I only read in the bathroom.

Still struggling through Combray by Proust and Leaves of Grass.

There are so many times that I've just about picked up Swann's Way, but I've been intimidated by Proust's reputation and the length of the series.

So, SonOfSlobone, which translation(s) are you reading? I guess there's this new one from Penguin which is supposed to be pretty good. I usually pay close attention to different translations -- I wrote my undergraduate thesis on Plato, and I learned then that a good translation can make all the difference.
He seems to write like he's being paid by the word. Maybe he is...
Well, if it's good enough for Dickens.... :)

I'm reading A N Wilson's biography of Sir John Betjeman.
