There is a time and place for gifs. But I find it incredibly tasteless to post a random gif or begin one of your showy lovefests right after someone has just gone into a long spill about how upset they are about something, or anything that is objectively serious. Especially when it's obvious that you guys are doing it to be funny or to spite a poster you don't care for. It's not cute, and it makes you both look like assholes.

I've learned to live with, but not love, the gifs which pepper the bulk of the threads in HT. But moderation is key, and - as with all things comedic - the timing and delivery is critical. Otherwise it's just a one-trick pony, and the trick is not very good any more. /2cents

As Bender stated we pretty much do it in troll/nonsense threads. As for upsetting people, I do it mostly because I like flirting with Bender, always have, gifs or not. The people who constantly bash my posting style look more like assholes than I do. Besides how can anyone move forward if they are just judging others without even trying to get to know them? That's ignorant, much more ignorant than just solving their own problem by putting us on ignore, disabling gifs, or trying to talk to us about it without the belittling.

Yep, basically this is spamming a thread you don't agree with to shut down conversation. If you have no ideas to bring to the table, You can't shout people down just by posting sheer volumes of nonsense gifs. It's dull.

Getting back on topic. I don't have anyone on ignore. I don't know how to put anyone on ignore, but I am a novice on the internet and I haven't tried looking up any instructions to do this. A lot of times I just scroll through items like I did with this thread; I skipped from page two to page six without reading the between pages.
