Natural causes, I'll assume?
I hate that Dr death crap
he helped people when everyone else consigned them to physical agony and psychological torment
a good man
I have always felt that if one's mental health is uncompromised and there is sound reason for wishing to depart life (eg, terminally ill and in considerable pain or in a situation with extremely low quality of life) that one should be able to make the decision oneself - and be assisted if needs be.
Some will not agree - but to me that is just humane.
It's also against the law to commit suicide.
The only thing I've seen it do is hurt families, spouses, and friends who have to live with the pain for the rest of their lives.
You've evidently never experienced a person close to you suffering from a terminal illness. I bet you that the majority of Kevorkian's clients' families were relieved that he helped their family member find the peace they desperately wanted. If the family was in pain, it is only because they had to watch their loved one suffer for so long. The only thing I've seen it do is hurt families, spouses, and friends who have to live with the pain for the rest of their lives.
