Ebola has reached Texas

Star Warrior,
People of faith will thank God for His blessings - which of which they count the medical/support staff who helped heal them.
It is not an insult the the people who had a hand in her care at all.

Yes -- making it "either/or" is a false dichotomy.

BTW, some of us meet bad things that happen and thank God -- usually along the lines of, "Thanks, God; I guess I needed that".

If there were a god, it would have an arbitrarily large array of methods for imparting wisdom or insight. Arranging or allowing suffering is unlikely to be among them, particularly in a species with the faculty of empathy.

^
Empathy arises from suffering, If no one suffered, few if any would have any empathy.

Empathy arises from being able to hold a mental state different from one's experience. It does not require suffering in the least.

Are we allowed to refer to them as Ebola 'victims'? We're not allowed to mention 'AIDS victims'.

Forget travel restrictions. It's too late now. Need to nuke all of Texas and New York immediately before it's too late.

Related, off-topic.

This a bit off the topic. But it's related.

It costs the UK government somewhere between £10 to £20k per year to treat an Aids patient.

In 1997 Britain had 17,000 Aids patients, in 2006 we had 56,000, now we have 79,000.

Half of the Aids patients in the UK are foreign nationals. Most of Heterosexual Aids infections are foreign nationals.

You must also factor in the fringe pozzing group who actively see out getting bugs. I think they're the greatest risk in a sexually active society.
