Eddie, as someone who knows depressive illnesses pretty well, I hope I can give you some useful input.

Please remember that doctors can treat this horrible illness the vast majority of times, but sometimes it takes a little while to find the right remedy.

One thing I wanted to ask you, if you didn't mind—do you currently work at a full-time job? I have heard of some revolutionary new treatments that have showed some dramatic results, but the 9-to-5 routine of a regular job interferes with their implementation.

I know of a couple of other tools you could try that will relieve the depression to some extent.
 
I've dealt with depression for 14 years, I haven't even gone to a doctor to deal with it. All I can say is just hang in there and things will get better for you, I am sure a lot of other people can relate to what you're going through.
 
Well I think going to Doctor is a very good step in making yourself feel better. But you have to be patient. Plus, see a therapist as well who will help you. Remedies only will make you feel better but they won't solve the problem

Thanks everyone for your comments and encouragement. I went to the Doctor today. Among other things, I found out I had anemia and was slightly dehydrated. I just wasn't taking care of myself or eating well. That's what happens when you're deppressed. I also have a sinus infection. I have some new meds now, and I'm feeling a little better. It will take time to build myself back up to normal. Again, you don't know how much I appreciate each and every comment!

Well, today is a big day in North Carolina. It's the day that homophobes get a chance to tell everyone just how much they hate gay people. Amendment 1, is said to define marriage between a man and woman only. The current North Carolina constitution already bans same sex marriage. The only reason this new "amendment" exists is to fuel the ignorance that people have concerning gay, bi, and transgender people.:grrr:

Of course I was very happy to vote against the amendment. That being done, I'm afraid that the amendment will pass. I hope I'm wrong!
 
I'm very sorry to see it passed,and by the margin that it did.The turnout wasn't that large but the right was more motivated.A very sad day...just as we take a step forward,we get pushed back.Fucking tired of it.
 
About a year ago, the people of North Carolina voted on a marriage amendment which of course defines marriage as being between a man and a woman. I, of course voted against the amendment, because it has always been a civil rights issue and not something that should ever be decided by popular vote.
Fast foward to the present day, and now gay marriage is legal in North Carolina. A Supreme court judge understood that this is a civil rights issue and that gay people should be allowed to marry. Of course the anti-gay marriage people are throwing fits, saying that the people voted, and that some radical judge should not go against the will of the people. The judge understood that marriage has a higher standard, and should be based on what is fair and what is right.
I've had a lot of verbal fights in my family trying to explain the issue. I even predicted that the amendment would fail because it is a gross violation of civil rights. I rejoice that we can get married now, but I am not fooled. People whom are against marriage equality will go through great lengths to ban gay marriage. Of course they will fail in the end, but they will waste a lot of time and cause a lot of grief. For some reason they think that gay marriage will harm "traditional marriage". This does not now, nor has it ever made any sense.
While some of my fellow christians wait for fire and brimstone and the collapse of the American family, I rejoice and thank God that we now have equality.
 
I have been lucky enough to have stayed long enough to post 5,000 posts, and may even reach my tenth anniversary.

I managed my 10th anniversary though it did include a two year break.

I am now heading for my 10 000 post after which I can take a breather as I don't think I am ever going to reach the breath-taking posts counts that a few of our members have.

Hello Friends.

I know that I have not been posting as much, but I have been nursing a nasty ear infection in my left ear. I'm nearly deaf in my right ear, so I have to be careful with my left ear.
Other than extreme pain, I saw how serious the left ear infection was when I woke up one morning with my pillow soaked in blood. I am now on oral antibiotics and ear drops.
I do feel so much better, but I am far from well. It's painful to wear my hearing aid. How are you doing dpnice? I read your comments about Queen Elizabeth, and although I'm just an American, I agree with what you have to say.:=D:
