Give me a break. They can't even find Jimmy Hoffa. So they found an old tomb with a guy named Jesus in it. They found a Jesus, but not "the" Jesus. I fully believe the Biblical account of Jesus' life and crucifixion. He was a bachelor, never married and never had children. Jesus was a serious threat to the organized religious establishment of the time. He would not have lived to be very old because people wanted him dead.

Of course as a Christian, I'm looking at this on a spiritual level. I think it's interesting nonsense and nothing else. It's funny how people who don't believe in anything spiritual, have such an interest in Jesus.

Yes, harsh words, but then again it's just my opinion. Sorry, but I've blocked replies for this blog entry.

Spring flowers are in full bloom in my area. My magnolia tree has large, purple blossoms. We've had a long streak of warm weather. I'm a little worried about a late frost killing the peach and strawberry crop.

I'm starting to get "Spring fever". Maybe by the time it really is Spring, I'll be feeling a lot better. If this beautiful weather continues, I plan to take a trip to the coast and visit the aquarium.

Well, magnolias at least. The frost didn't kill the buds on my magnolia tree. Now it's filled with huge, purple, goblet shaped flowers. It's a sight to behold. I'm sure glad I purchased it 18 years ago. When I first got it, it was knee high and had 3 blossoms. Now it's 15ft with a 20 ft spread and has a least a hundred blossoms. For those interested, the cultivar is called "lennei". It was first breed in the 1850's and is hard to find now.

I enjoy JUB, but I can't ignore the current rash of hostility towards people of certain beliefs. In a community where tolerance should be important, intolerance has become rampant. We have all had differences of opinion, but it's going beyond that.

When someone says I should be killed because of my beliefs, how should I take that? What's worse is the fact that other people seem to be cheering on the hatred. Maybe I'm tired and not seeing things straight.

I have to take a serious look in to whether or not I should be on JUB. Even in the homophobic community, people didn't wish I was dead. I'll take some time to think over this before I decide to stay or leave. I'm not angry, just very upset and hurt by insensitive people.

On March 6, I was treated in the hospital for a violent headache and high blood pressure. They did CT scans and blood work. I got an injection of pain medication and antibiotics. When my blood pressure came down, I went home.

I just found out yesterday that the reason I'm feeling so bad is an extensive sinus infection. I've been fighting this for such a long time, and now I have to take antibiotics for another month. There is some concern that the infection could spread into the brain and cause seizures. If the antibiotics don't work or if my condition worsens, I have to go in the hospital for surgery to drain the infected areas.

I can barely keep ahead of the pain with the medication I have. It's helping me feel better. Having the pain under control puts me in a better mood. I'm always worried about the addictive qualities of narcotic pain meds. I supplement over the counter pain meds in order to reduce the amount of narcotic pain meds taken.

With a month of antibiotics, I'll be going to the bathroom every other hour! Well, I'm very optimistic that things will work out and I'll get well soon.

The antibiotics I'm taking for a sinus infection is doing a number on my digestive system. I've got to take them all or risk having the infection get worse. If I'm not nauseated, I've got diarrhea. It sure keeps me on my toes....and on the toilet!

I've been feeling good emotionally. Very stable, maybe a little hypomanic. This has been the case for a couple of weeks. It would be nice if it lasted forever.

I think it's very important that all voices are heard in the debate over global warming. While there is scientific support for global warming, there is also scientific support to say it's nonsense. We should listen to all researchers, pro and con. There has been a tendency to lash out at scientists and people who don't believe in global warming.

Now, my own opinion on global warming is this: I think we are in a natural warming cycle, but it is enhanced because of man. So, mankind is partly responsible for global warming. A few major volcanic eruptions could send clouds of ash into the atmosphere and actually cool the earth. The eruption of Mt Tambora in the early 1800's caused a mini "ice age".

We need to do all that we can to stop polluting this planet. It's not so much about global warming as it is about what we're doing to our enviroment. Clean air and clean water is getting harder to find. Man has polluted the planet to the extent that it is toxic to millions of people. I believe that the increase in cancer is being caused by our chemically poisoned enviroment.

Whether or not you believe in global warming, there is no excuse for not supporting a cleaner Earth.

Sunday, May 13th, is Mother's Day in America. Get something nice to show your Mother how much you appreciate her. If you're not in to gift giving, how about taking her out to dinner? Sometimes the simplest things, such as a beautiful Mother's Day card, can be very touching. My Mother loves pins and brooches. I got her a pretty topaz and pearl brooch.

If your Mother has passed away, you can remember her by placing fresh flowers on her grave. If you're not able to do that, put some flowers in a vase, and make a little place of honor in your home. You can also light candles in remembrance of her.

If you've had an argument that's separated you from your Mother, reconcile. That would be the best gift you could give.

I've had nearly 2 months of not being bothered by my bipolar disorder. Well, now it's over. Depression has descended upon me like a dark cloud taking away my joy. I knew this was coming sooner or later. I felt myself slipping down that past few days, but I fought it. If I seem sensitive and edgy the next week or so, I apologize. When I'm depressed my entire outlook on life is distorted. I can only pray that it want be a long period and that it doesn't get worse.:(

:help: I'm having a bad "spell". I'm a mixture of depression, anger, frustration, and rage. One part of me wants to cry, while the other wants to put my head through a brick wall.](*,) No, nothing has happened, just a wild mood swing.

So, I'm debating the future. Then again, who care's?:(

There has been no significant rain in my area for over a month. The forecast for the next 10 days doesn't include rain. The newly plowed fields are bone dry and dust is blowing everywhere. I'm going to have to water my rose bushes before they dry up and die. I'd better put fresh water in the bird bath. I know the little feathered creatures are having trouble finding water. I hope that my pyromaniac neighbors don't decide to burn trash in a barrel. One spark will set the dry woods ablaze.

I should do a rain dance. With my luck, I'd screw it up and create a hailstorm.

Oh, for the old days in Hollywood, when celebrities had an air of mystery about them. There's nothing mysterious about soon to be jailbird, Paris Hilton. We've seen her have sex on film as well as say the "n" word and the "f" word. She's a spoiled brat that has become the idol of thousands of teenage girls.

Why are teenage girls idolizing Paris? Let's look a her many noteworthy achievements....1. She's filthy rich, 2. She comes from a famous family, 3. Did I mention she's filthy rich?, 4. She did porn., 5. She's going to jail.

Okay, I'm not being fair. I didn't mention the singing or the television show. To be honest, the t.v. show doesn't involve any acting and her singing is generic at best.

If we consider the achievements of Paris Hilton as the ideal picture of young womanhood, that means teenage girls want to be rich, irresponsible, no talent whores with a singing career on the side. I'm happy to say that I know some teenage girls who don't idolize Paris Hilton.

I'm happy to say that we finally got some rain in my area. The remnants of tropical storm Barry dumped about 2 inches of rain on us Saturday night and Sunday morning. It's been so dry that I was glad to see it. Now I don't have to water my plants or the lawn for a while. With the next few days of 90 degree heat, the corn will soon be as "high as an elephant's eye".

I watched the Republican Presidential debate. First of all let me say that not one candidate impressed me. The worst Democratic candidate is better than the best Republican. I was irritated by the backward views of the candidates.

All of the candidates were asked to raise their hand if they thought that openly gay people should serve in the military. Not one candidate raises his hand!:grrr: Those candidates that were called upon to make a statement, said that the current policy works. As one candidate said "It doesn't matter if you're gay or straight, bad behavior should be dealt with". I know that it does matter. A double standard persecutes gay people who do the same thing that straight people do in the military.

When asked about the firing of gay interpreters, the general response was that disruptive people should be dismissed. Disruptive people? ](*,) I could not believe what I was hearing. Many of the candidates felt that the military commanders should deal with the issue of gay men. That view ignores the fact that some military commanders are homophobic.

Other countries have started to allow openly gay people to serve in the military, with no problems. How long is the United States going to be so archaic and backwards?

I will be proud to vote for a democratic presidential candidate!..|

My birthday is coming up on June 15th, and as usual, I'm feeling down. I keep remembering what happened last year. Everyone forgot my birthday and one of my favorite Aunt's died. My family did remember a few days later. I know that my deceased Aunt would have want me to have a great birthday. She's the first person that I came out to.:(

So this year I'm going to try hard to have a good birthday. I'm not going to draw up in a corner or think about slashing my wrists. I'm going to have a good time, even if everyone else forgets.:(

It seems like a long time from 1963 until today. I've seen a lot of changes. I've seen the gay community move slowly forward, and at times, move back. President Kennedy had less than 6 months to live. He was assassinated in November.

There were no video games or cable television. I played outdoors and used my imagination. We had a black and white tv
until 1974. You had a limited number of channels back then. If I remember well it was CBS, ABC, NBC, and public television. Captain Kangaroo was a big deal at my house! The Carol Burnett Show was a cherished Saturday Night ritual.

Of course, there were things I didn't like. The 'blue laws" meant that everything was closed on Sunday. If you needed gasoline, you'd better get it on Saturday. You couldn't even get a soda or a loaf of bread on Sunday.

I hope I will have many more years on this earth.

Today the disciplinary committee has decided to disbar Mike Nifong. Nifong was the District Attorney who was prosecuting the Duke lacrosse players for rape. What happened to these young men is disgusting. Mike Nifong was up for reelection. He needed the votes of the black community to win. He "played" the black community, portraying himself as a man seeking justice against those "white hoodlums". His tactics worked. The black community embraced him and he was reelected. The Duke lacrosse players were demonized by the black community and by reporters. Rich white kids who raped a black girl just trying to make a living.

This girl is a stripper, who has never told a consistent story of what happened. Years before, she brought up a similar accusation in a different town. DNA evidence was found, but none of it matched the accused lacrosse players. What was obvious is that she'd had sex with several different men. It's amazing that Mike Nifong even had the gall to go forward with this case. He held back the DNA evidence from the defense.[-X He made a number of unproffesional comments to the media regarding the lacrosse players.

What do you do with a power hungry, over zealous D.A. whose trying to get elected? Other than disbar him, the individual lacrosse players plan to bring charges against Nifong. Nifong could also receive criminal charges.

I must admit that I've been rather lazy the past few weeks. Nothing seems to spark my interest. I've let my rose bushes go unpruned and the aphids are having a feast. I've been very tired and sleeping a lot. I'm in a blue funk, but not quite depressed. I keep searching for something that will spark my interest and pull me out of this dry spell. Yawn....

I've had an on again, off again migraine for the past 24 hours. It came on late at night and got better by mid morning. It came back this afternoon.](*,) As for now, the pain has subsided a little. If I'm not better by morning I'll go see my doctor.:(

It's going to be another hot one. No, not my sex life, but today's temperature. The ac is on full blast and it still seems hot. I'm sitting at the computer with a fan blowing on me. Maybe we'll get a few thunderstorms to cool things off. If it hails, I'll run outside naked and cool off.

My trip to the doctor revealed some unpleasant news. The sinus infection that had just cleared up is back. I thought I had a migraine, but it's just the infection putting pressure on the sinus cavity. The doctor said that it wasn't as bad as before. I've got some antibiotics and some pain med. I hope it will clear up soon, because I hate being sick.:(

Stray cats have invaded my yard. They insist on drinking from the birdbath, scaring the birds away. These are fat, healthy cats, not scrawny and wild. I figure they are eating a lot of local wildlife. I'm fine with it as long as they stop putting paw prints on my freshly washed car.
