Elizabeth Taylor passes away

RIP Elizabeth Taylor, an amazing actress and an even more amazing human being who fought for the rights of people with HIV/AIDs where others simply recoiled out of fear or bigotry.

I guess it had to happen eventually .... she did remarkably well to last as long as she did, given the health problems she's had over the years.

Still, I'll miss her.

RIP Elizabeth Taylor

One of my favourite performances was actually a television commercial, and she didn't really perform. It took place in a movie theatre and her movie was running in the background. Elizabeth was standing in the doorway at the back. The cameras focused on members of the audience and they were completely mesmerised by what they were watching. That said everything about Elizabeth Taylor. She could capture an audience like no other.

(I think it was a 'Diamonds' commercial, but I can't find it on YouTube.)

awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

i am so sad today.

I am so saddened by this news...she was an incredible woman, a fabulously talented actress and a great humanitarian...few women have had the impact she has had on our society and she will be greatly missed.

How terribly sad. I feel like we're losing all the very best over the last few years. What a great woman she was. Bless you, Liz.

She had a full life. Talented, beautiful, successful in business and her art and altruistic.

Thanks Miss Taylor for enriching the world.

Liz Taylor had guts. people forget that when she started AMFAR, most of Hollywood was terrified of even saying the word AIDS. I remember an interview she gave, downplaying her leadership. She maintained that she saw that no one was leading and that someone had to stand up[ and say hey there are people dying and we have to do something.

a great lady

RIP

I am very saddened by this. She was a remarkable woman. She will be dearly missed.

Thank you, Elizabeth, for all the work you did to fight for gay rights and against AIDS.

She was such a great human being.

She was truly a great lady! She had the most violet eyes the shinned forever! My favorite of hers is the only one that she didnt like was "Butterfield 8!

RIP Elizabeth.

I loved her in Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? and I still need to see a lot of her other movies. I will be forever greatful for her charity work.

While she was pretty and successful, I think her life was probably more difficult than we might realize. Anyone who was married multiple times must have had some real stress from that alone.

Awww...R.I.P. Elizabeth!

She was such a talented, beautiful individual. :D

I wonder if they'll stop playing that White Diamonds commercial (which I absolutely adore) now. I've been seeing it since I was a little boy.

these have always brought me luck...

I loved that commercial too!
