Elizabeth Taylor passes away

She might not get to RIP because word is the Westboro church is at it again, threatening to protest at her funeral.

When will these maggot Phelps just die and go away?

Always one of my favorites. I especially liked her in Cleopatra.

i knew i see her from somewhere is just that she is not a very known singer outside the usa,in fact,i haven't heard anything in the new channels about her death only in JUB.i do feel very thankful to her after watching the video above, she was a friend of the gblt community.how sad, gay people are gonna miss her a lot.

I remember a sitcom once where the true test of whether a person was TRULY gay was whether or not you could name all of Liz's husbands, in order.

You don't happen to remember the name of the sitcom, do you?

I think it was "Brothers", which originally aired on Showtime.

I'm 20...not in the USA, and have known who Elizabeth Taylor was since uh...God, grade school. She was a famous Hollywood giant. You have to be under a rock to not know who she was.

She is VERY well known all over the world, she's one of the biggest old time hollywood icons left, until her death anyway. The internet is full of her news right now and all the news channels are covering her left and right. Where exactly are you located?
By the way, she's not a singer.

who cares?!!! i don't have a clue who she was.gay people come up with new "celebrity stars" every other day,i can't believe it.

That's right the gay community just decided to make Elizabeth Taylor a "new celebrity star" last week.

This is the most ignorant statement I have ever read on this forum and I don't care if you're 16 years old or 100 yrs old.

I saw her on stage in "the little foxes" with Maureen Stapleton. She was incredible. BOTH were incredible.

Very very said. I saw her for the first time in A Place In The Sun. Didn't like the film much but thought Liz absolutely gorgeous.

RIP.

Did anyone besides me see her in Dylan Thomas' Under Milk Wood?
Yes and in 'Dr. Faustus', 'Taming of the Shrew' and also the Muriel Spark novella and the Graham Greene and the Terence Rattigan… all, I assume, under the influence of Burton.
I wonder if she would have otherwise?

That's why she was so fantastic.

this woman was incredibly beautiful, and sexy, but she was also an excellent actress... a very rare combination, at any time of Hollywood history

Her husband Richard Burton said that when he worked with her the first time, he thought she couldn't act. That her face showed little emotion... Then he saw the actual taping, and realized that she was perfect, while he had overdone it. The difference between theater acting and movie acting, he goes on to say that he learned movie acting from her.

Farewell Liz

You, sir, are an asshole. You are inexcusably rude and ignorant and I make no apologies for saying so.

oh my god, wait.... a queen had a tantrum!!!sweetheart, grow up and do not take thing so personally, it is bad for your health.

for all the nazi american culture egocentrics,....oh well, first of all, this woman is not a marilyn monroe, nor a celine dion, nor a queen elizabeth of england, nor a lady Di,so realistically speaking not EVERYONE in this world knows who this woman was.nor they care about how many thousands of husbands she had.

i don't listen to the radio and i don't watch tv that much, but when i do ,i watch italian and some spanish news,it surprised me that i never heard of this new before neither in the spanish nor in the italian news.this is for you to see how important this new was for them,i'm not saying that they didn't say anything about her death, but it was not like the death of maickel jackson or even that of Celia Cruz.

i did have,as i said before, sort of like a deja-vu,like just a feeling that i have seen her before in the past somewhere, and i don't know why she gave me the impression of being a singer.but well.. i learned about the existence of one of my favorite american singers, Melissa Edridge, like two years ago,so i guess i'm not that immersed in american history or culture that much.

i asked my partner about her coz he was born here,he "heard" about her before,he also thought that she was a singer.i talked with his mother this morning by phone, she has lived in the usa for more than 30 years, and she said that she has heard that name before somewhere, that she thought she was either a singer or an american actress.so don't assume that foreigners actually care that much about american old hollywood "celebrities",most people around the world don't even care to learn English, even less about Elizabeth tayler's life history.

it is sad that the gblt community lost a friend and a supporter, after i saw her support for gays and lesbians in the videos,i feel like we lost an important person in our side.i specially feel for gay american because you feel like much closer to her than i "logically" do.so i also feel the sadness of my gay brother and sisters in this one.how sad.
