Well I've interviewed Parker and Rusty and I think they both came off pretty damn well.

Parker is a SWEET guy. Whenever he shoots with us, he always comes into my office, curls up on my couch and goes to sleep.

Parker did come across very well in his Lucas interview and in his interviews with you. He's one who benefits from being interviewed because I've grown to like him because of his interviews. John Magnum is another one.

Rusty Stevens did not serve himself well. Did you see the Lucas interview with London and Stevens? You might have a different reaction since you've interviewed both men.

I'm a film buff, and the longest one I can think of is the anger over non-Asian men playing Charlie Chan. And the controversy over that has lasted over 70 years! The controversy is so bad that an American film channel had to cancel a Chan movie marathon because Asians were/are upset that an Asian actor did not play Chan. OR you have white actors in blackface. We've had a very good discussion about g4p. No name calling just expressing our opinions, and the discussion has been so respectful and so interesting that we've been able to deal with a lot of aspects about g4p that are rarely discussed because most g4p discussions end in insults or people who refuse to see the opposite side of the issue, The OP did us a favor even if that were not his intention. The only name calling and disrespect we've had since the discussion became serious is from you.

There have been performers who've appeared on SG4GE and whose CocksureMEn videos I won't watch even if they're paired with a performer I like. It took me a LONG time to even watch a scene with Parker London or John Magnum for that very reason, and as much as I enjoy them in interviews, and have grown to like them, their partner has to be someone I really like for me to watch their videos because I'm always thinking, "IS he watching straight porn while he's having sex with this guy? Is he really enjoying this? Did they have to stop every five minutes because he couldn't keep it up? Or would he rather be with a woman?" When you have those kinds of questions when you're watching a GAY porn scene, it makes it hard to enjoy it. As much as I like JEremy Bilding and think he's a very good gp performer, it's difficult for me to become aroused knowing he also does straight porn. What helps a bit is that I never see pics of his straight work unless he does a Sg4GE scene.

I know some gay men find straight porn a turn on. I don't. Gay porn must be the only type of porn where studios and performers intentionally do things to piss of a segment of their fanbase. I don't get it. Makes no sense to me. I get there's an audience for it, but there is another group (of which I'm a part of) who you will lose immediately. You'd never have a straight porn star do a gay scene just for kicks or to prove he could. And can you imagine if the straight performer did a gay scene, and then badmouthed straight sex, his straight porn fans and said how much better the gay scene was? Not to piggy back on my remarks, but I thought of this after I sent the above. I've said this above, but it bears repeating. So many young gay men look to porn for comfort, for release, for confirmation of who they are. If they're closeted and living in an anti-gay environment, a gay porn star can be a positive exposure to gay sex. It can make them feel that they're not alone. So many gay men (luckily, my parents have ALWAYS been overly supportive of my being gay) are constantly told that being gay is a sin, a phase, a psychological illness that can be treated, etc. They latch on to a gay performer, and then see that the performer confirms what they've been told: a gay man can turn straight.

Would the gay performers like Miklos, Riley, Marshall, Woods, and Bennett who do straight scenes feel comfortable and perfectly okay with these closeted guys seeing their straight scenes and reading about (save for LB) how they enjoyed "going straight."? How would Miklos explain his scene to that closeted boy whose parents sent him to an ex-gay camp? Would he want that 18 year old to see his straight video?

I wish I was being melodramatic. I've met a lot of gay men online who've gone through the above. One was punched in the face by his father when he came out. His mother sent him to an ex-gay camp. He tried to kill himself several times from 16 to 19. His favorite performer was Cameron Marshall, and Marshall doing Shifting Gears was devastating to him. If it seems like I'm unforgiving about this issue, it's because I think of him whenever the straight for pay issue comes up. I wonder what Miklos, Riley, and Marshall would say to my friend.

You do have scenes where the guy is looking away from the camera, and I always wonder if he's watching straight porn especially if he is so disconnected from his partner in a scene. I wonder which sites allow straight porn to be playing while a straight man is fucking a gay man. IT could very well be the performer is just looking at the monitor to see how's doing, but as viewers, we're so inundated with straight performers that we don't trust a simple explanation like that. And we're also not stupid. Most of us can tell when someone is or isn't enjoying a scene. Massive amounts of editing is always a sure sign fo that.

I've seen poor porn performances from gay men. No doubt about it, but I don't think the answer is to excuse g4p or bad g4p performers. It's to hire gay men who can perform. Every performer is going to have a bad day, but the g4pers tend to have a lot more of these bad days.

Anyone who works in a visual media is responsible for the images they send out into the world. Images and actions do matter. IF that weren't the case, every studio would have bareback scenes since those videos sell more.

Gay porn is very integral to the sexual identity of gay men and Marshall doing a straight scene is going to have a huge impact especially when you consider that it came out around the time of Prop 8. And just because you can do something [Miklos doing a straight scene for ex.] doesn't mean you should if someone else is going to pay the price. What may be a lark to him can be very damaging to someone else.

A small example of that: I wrote 2 blogs about learning to bottom. Didn't take them seriously. I just wrote them up in an offhand way. The response to those blogs (pro and con) surprised me greatly and the response made me very cautious about what I write because I had no idea how something I wrote in an offhand way would be read by others. I was dismissive of gay virgins over 25 and I wrote some not kind things about bisexuals, but now I make sure not to do that because I know that my words can have a negative impact. I don't censor myself, but I'm mindful that what I say can have an impact--positive or negative.

I know you weren't trying to justify g4p, but this is an excuse I've seen used for g4p. It's a silly one because who wants bad performers? You want first rate performers. You want performers to turn you on. The majority of bad performances I've seen have come from g4pers. It's rare when I see a poor performance from a gay men. If I do, it's usually when they're paired with a straight performer. Blake Riley was one of those gay performers. I found his scenes so damn dull and lifeless. I want to see joy in the performances, and he was like the fucking dead.

Ok, but I don't know either one of those guys. I've worked with Leo twice and I think he said 26 words to me the whole shoot. Kevin I didn't work with other than to shoot some behind the scenes video with him and a girl and that's about it. I'm not going to say someone is gay if I don't know for sure that they are.
