More proof that all the GQP know that the release will be blocked by the Senate or by the DoJ investigation.

They will all be able to use the vote for cover...but mark my words they will be on television tomorrow prevaricating and narrowing in on the files they are 'legally entitled to have and why they support the DoJ on this...not just for Trump's sake but for all the other people named as well.

It passed the Senate with unanimous consent which negated the need for debate, so no filibuster.

David Frum made a good observation that the mob is forming and is headed to the castle, and now Trump will try to pick up a stick and try to play drum major to the parade. Given his behavior, he may realize that it's too late.

Someone ran the emails that were released last week through character recognition. Trump is mentioned in those emails over 2,000 times.

I was amazed that the senate passed this.

Which now tells me that all the GQP Congress members have been told that the DoJ can block the release.

Or, if Trump vetoes the bill, they will not use a 2/3 majority to override.

I think it is too early to celebrate, because I think the most powerful men in the US and around the world are able to prevent the files from becoming public.

Well, he's signed it off. The next potential obstacle is the sub judice rule, or whatever it's called in the US. The issue to my mind with that is that Trump has recently ordered an investigation into the connection between various prominent Democrats and Epstein, which means that documents relating to Republicans are likely to be released first.

The US House Oversight Committee on Wednesday announced a massive document dump from Jeffrey Epstein’s estate, including thousands of emails discussing a wide range of topics, including women, blackmail, and spending the holidays with Donald Trump.

The 20,000 documents come in the form of poorly organized folders with unhelpful labels, screenshots of emails, and heavily redacted spreadsheets. Some of the files are devoid of context, such as a video in the NATIVES folder of a dog playing with plushies of Trump and Hillary Clinton, while others are broken up in confusing ways, like email chains split into several PDFs.

In late 2016, Jeffrey Epstein flew his private Gulfstream G550 alone from Paris to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and emerged from the visit with a lavish gift, apparently from Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. It was a tent, "carpets and all," as he later described it. Bedouin tents, in Middle Eastern culture, are a symbol of hospitality.

What Epstein was doing to be honored with that gift is currently a mystery.

A funny side story: there have been weird rumors flying around that Barron Trump was dating a male Argentinian dancer named Carlos. The rumors were false. But the MBS Games of Thrones dinner fueled new rumors. Also at the dinner were Barron Trump and soccer start Cristiano Ronaldo. Under normal circumstances, proceedings of a grand jury are sealed.

A judge in Florida just approved the release of the Epstein grand jury investigation from 2009. This is the investigation that ended with the "sweetheart deal" that dropped most of the charges, allowed Epstein to go to his office while serving an 18 month sentence and prevented prosecutions of other people accused of participating in the molestations.

The judge cited the law passed by Congress last month.

A federal judge on Friday gave the Justice Department permission to release transcripts of a grand jury investigation into Jeffrey Epstein's abuse of underage girls in Florida - a case that ultimately ended without any federal charges being filed against the millionaire sex offender.

U.S. District Judge Rodney Smith said a recently passed federal law ordering the release of records related to Epstein overrode the usual rules about grand jury secrecy.

The law signed in November by President Donald Trump compels the Justice Department, FBI and federal prosecutors to release later this month the vast troves of material they have amassed during investigations into Epstein that date back at least two decades.

The Democrats have released a couple of batches of Epstein photographs. The Republicans have accused them of creating a "false narrative".

The photo which particularly caught my eye was of the former Prince Andrew talking to Bill Gates. I assumed it had been released because someone thought it evidenced some sort of impropriety, although for the life of me I couldn't see what.



Then the BBC released the full, uncropped version of the photo. It was taken at a heads of government meeting in London in 2018 by Getty Images and includes none other than the King himself (PoW at the time).



It does look as if someone was trying to create a misleading impression.

What is being unsaid...

The far right has intertwined Epstein with QAnon conspiracy theories, so they view the "Epstein files" as an indictment of rich powerful pedophiles who were involved in sex trafficking or were lizard people who fed upon the adrenal glands of children. It sounds crazy but that is what QAnon and a segment of MAGA believes.

What is being overlooked (or swept under rug, depending on your viewpoint) is that Epstein was also involved in charities, some of which were fronts for money laundering and funneling money into Zionist causes.

So, this leaves us with uncertainty. Was Alan Deroshowitz hanging out with Epstein for the girls, the money, for the Zionist causes or all of the above? And this will be the question that gets asked of a lot of these men- Bill Clinton, Steve Bannon, David Brooks, Bill Gates, et al.
