I did mispeak- the Massie interview said "contempt of Congress", not censure. It is all just theatre. Massie can move whatever he likes. He knows his fellow members won't vote for it when next they return and Johnson is likely to delay even that possibility. Articles of impeachment? In what world does he think that Congress would impeach Turmp's handmaiden in crime? Seriously.
I can't believe that everyone didn't know exactly what would happen and are just acting out a scripted poli-porno playbook in order to run out the clock.
The fact is that some of the richest and most powerful men in the world will get away with everything because they always get away with everything.
And it's lilly-livered Democrats that are poo-poo'ing the discussion about impeachment of Bondi. Republicans went after Holder and Garland for far less.
This is one that one issue where Republicans are going to buck the White House. That 427-1 vote surprised even the most cynical of Congress-watchers. Massie had been claiming numbers like 10-30 Republicans would vote for the Epstein discharge petition. The Republicans have finally figured out something that people have been telling them for a while: Trump can't primary the entire Republican caucus, so the more Republicans who say, "No", the better off the entire caucus will be.
We're going to reach the point where someone is going to have to be the fall guy for this debacle. Bondi is very unpopular with MAGA - she's polling minus 41 favorable/unfavorable. They were already pissed at her over the fake "release" of the Epstein files earlier this year and all these new cover-up stories are just putting a bullseye on her back.
