Erykah Badu Pushes 'New Amerykah' To March

Originally due Feb. 23, Erykah Badu's fifth studio album, "New Amerykah, Part II: Return of the Ankh," has now been pushed to March 30, the singer/songwriter announced via Twitter today (Jan. 21).

"Return of the Ankh," which will be released through Universal Motown, features production from 9th Wonder, James Poyser, J Dilla and Madlib, among others. Bilal and Lil Wayne appear on the bonus web-only track, "Jump In The Air," which was scrapped from the physical tracklist after parts of it leaked on the internet in December.

As soon as it leaks I will be almost certained it's getting a proper release.
 
Erykah Badu To Leak Viral Video Today

On the eve of the release of her upcoming album, "New Amerykah, Part II: Return of the Ankh," Erykah Badu has announced she will be leaking a promotional viral video on her official site, erykahbadu.com. Badu's personal publicist has confirmed.

"At 3:33 pm Tomorrow . Friday . The official leak ... erykahbadu.com," read the post by fatbellybella -- Badu's Twitter name. The teaser will feature snippets of the video for the bonus track, "Jump In The Air," featuring Lil Wayne and Bilal.

Last month, Badu announced "New Amerykah" will be physically released on March 30th according to a tweet she posted on Jan. 21. The album was original scheduled for Feb. 23.

I just know that the songs included on the disc will be better than Jump Up In The Air. I've got my fingers crossed, at least.
 
This is so classic Erykah Badu, this just got me excited for this even more.
 
^ You beat me to it lol. I like video except that Lil Wayne's gremlin ass is a part of it.
 
"Jump up in the air" grew on me. Didn't like it at first. Glad it's still a bonus track (last I heard) like "Honey" was on New Amerykah Part I.

I hope "Agitation" leaks or a 30 sec sampled. That's the song produced by Shafiq of Sa Ra. They did such a great job with "Master Teacher".
 
Oh, I hope "Get Money" leaks to. It's suppose to be a tribute to Biggie or her take on the Junior Mafia song of the same name.

I use to hate that song when it was popular in the 90s, but now I can't get it out of my head LOL.
 
Why is it that whenever I try to view the video, it stops halfway through and restarts? Has anyone else had this issue?

Erykah Badu returns with Miami concert:gogirl:

Neo-soul songstress and certified weirdo Erykah Badu will perform at the Waterfront Theatre at the American Airlines Arena in downtown Miami on April 8.

The concert will come only days after the release of her fifth studio album, New Amerykah Part Two (Return of the Ankh), due March 30. Badu last performed in South Florida in May 2008, when she shared the stage with The Roots at Mizner Park Amphitheater in Boca Raton.

Whereas 2008's New Amerykah Part One (4th World War) was a mostly funky, experimental romp through digital music-making, Part Two promises to be more grounded in Badu's soul roots. First single "Window Seat" is organic and moody, and Web-only single "Jump Up In The Air (Stay There)" with Lil' Wayne and Bilal is a psychedelic party with an orchestral twist.

No ticket prices have been announced yet, but tickets should go on sale February 26 at 10 a.m.
