Dpnice, the threads are still here. If you see something, say something. Point out the posts where I do this. Please. I could learn from your insights.
What I need you to STOP doing, however, is displaying friendly messages on public, while sending insulting ones in private. It's two-faced and rather cowardly. If you wanted to call me an asshole outright, you should've felt free to do that here and not in forum comments.
I think it's the faux-morality at the end of the day. Person x says rude shit about Group A, so person y responds by trashing Group B.
Did ALL of Group B need to be disrespected just to respond to Person x? No.
In these cases, Person y always acts like they just gave a warranted reaction to someone who disrespected them, but they disrespected a LOT of folks who had nothing against them in the process.
It's just unnecessary.
My issue is this: What does that accomplish?
If a guy like this comes along and talks shit on smooth guys (which I am), I could get offended and respond by talking shit on hairy guys.
But somewhere on the other end of the forum there's a smooth guy and there's a hairy guy both reading all of this negativity for no reason at all.
I'm not saying we can't have preferences. But responding in kind to assholes like this doesn't make you an anti-asshole--it just makes you another asshole.

Personally, I think Carey kinda extends out his male model underwear and magazine created notion of how men look best into a 'universal' in many of his posts.
Yeah...this is common with a lot of people who think their opinion and personal taste in men are "facts" for everyone .....and that they can define beauty which is COMPLETELY SUBJECTIVE 100% OF THE TIME for anyone else but themselves. people do that with "God" too...

Did you not see the honking IMOs in every one of my posts? Having studied psychology I've learned not to generalize anything. I never said my opinions were facts, as an atheist I should know better.
Anyway there is a standard of beauty for a reason. There are certain universals and some people's taste are closer to that standard and some people's a bit further. And then there are some who'll find even the fattest, hairiest, oldest, ugliest, men/women sexy.
PS I'd like to add Michelangelo's David is clean shaven
I don't agree. There was a study last year showing that a majority of heterosexual women consider male body hair attractive and a sign of masculinity.
The notion that "we see what we see in magazines and movies is because that's what most people prefer" is as troubled a conclusion as pointing to Justin Bieber's fame and saying "see, he must be hot."
Likewise, I think a lot of straight women compete on factors that really only are noticed or judged by other women--- and men largely don't even care about.
What study? And as if a 'study' with a few women proves anything. Actually it's almost always the women who don't like hairy bodies because they themselves don't have any.
There is this new wave of thinking in many men that they're being feminized by society and that shaving is a conspiracy by grooming products companies. The popularity of medieval shows like Game Of Thrones and the beard trend among Hollywood actors don't help either.
Also, you cannot compare Michelangelo's David which has stood the test of time to Justin Beiber's manufactured fame. You look throughout history and the ideal portrayal of male beauty will almost always be clean shaven men.
As if your opinion and off-the-cuff broad social conclusions prove anything...?
It's amazing how many men in ancient Sparta and Rome had access to whole-body waxes, according to Hollywood.
Or maybe it was simply a pain in the ass to chisel realistic body hair onto a piece of stone.

I'm still waiting for that study (even though it won't prove anything)
Michelangelo could have made David bearded but why didn't he? Again for the majority of people clean shaven is attractive.
I agree. Most people like clean shaven. Only bald people really need to have beards.
I'm still waiting for that study (even though it won't prove anything)
Michelangelo could have made David bearded but why didn't he? Again for the majority of people clean shaven is attractive.
Why would it? It's not the opinion of Carey.
Substantiation for this besides linking a few statues of Greek athletes who were young, and therefore depicted without facial hair to denote youth?
Also note the irony that after going into a huff over my statement that you expand your opinion out into the realm of universal objective fact, you proceed to do exactly that.
Buzzy, no offense but you seem to have the dreaded 'know it all' attitude that is making society decline. Know your place in life and stick to it.
It's cool if we're never friends. We know how they rate for you.
