Ethnicity and body hair

Buzzy, no offense but you seem to have the dreaded 'know it all' attitude that is making society decline. Know your place in life and stick to it.

Seriously? I just have to ask you...how is his attitude responsible for the decline of society? ...I can't even begin to fathom how anyone could arrive at that conclusion?

......he is a clear example of someone who elevates the conversation....

Did you not see the honking IMOs in every one of my posts? Having studied psychology I've learned not to generalize anything. I never said my opinions were facts, as an atheist I should know better. 8-)

Anyway there is a standard of beauty for a reason. There are certain universals and some people's taste are closer to that standard and some people's a bit further. And then there are some who'll find even the fattest, hairiest, oldest, ugliest, men/women sexy.

Bwaa haa haa!!!! Oh please stop the bull-shit now. Psych patient maybe...

Why would it? It's not the opinion of Carey.

At least I linked something. Your just big talk and...

Substantiation for this besides linking a few statues of Greek athletes who were young, and therefore depicted without facial hair to denote youth?

Also note the irony that after going into a huff over my statement that you expand your opinion out into the realm of universal objective fact, you proceed to do exactly that.

It's so ironic people who want the acceptance of unconventional beauty do not accept what's obvious.

If I linked some statues of men with beards then I've matched your argument for whether or not one is "widely more favored by the majority." Which I could easily do. But it doesn't prove anything, much like linking a picture of the statue of David.

Not to be rude, but do we not think there are more important things to argue about than whether beards are hotter than non-beards. I find this whole thread offensive and racist. As gay people we should understand persecution but instead racism is rife in the gay community. More so than the straight community.

Yes well, that is the topic of this thread. So that's what's being discussed here. As to the topic of how gay men as a minority should have more of an insight into the experience of other minority groups, that is a topic that comes up not infrequently, though it is not the topic of this thread. And you are rather full of uninformed conclusions about both the posters here and the discussions that go on considering you have been here for all of one day as far as I can tell.

Also, you cannot compare Michelangelo's David which has stood the test of time to Justin Beiber's manufactured fame. You look throughout history and the ideal portrayal of male beauty will almost always be clean shaven men.

Over 2500 years old. Trends change.

Some people prefer hairy guys, some people prefer smoth guys, and some people don't give a fuck. Can we let this thread die now?

I'm assuming the gay people here are like gay people in the real world. I've seen all I need to to draw my conclusions. This thread is basically claiming based on evidence like porn or personal experience that some ethinicty's are hairier than others and so must be less attractive. It's a stupid thread because in every ethnicity there are both hairy and hairless people. Gays are obsessed with race.

No one has even been discussing race for the majority of the thread. Dem skills.

Chest
Out of 100 women surveyed, 76 said they like hair on a man's chest. Obviously, they weren't referring to so much hair that they'd be able to comb and style it with hair products, but just enough to run their fingers through. Mind you, only 34% said they liked the entire front side (chest and stomach) covered with hair. 85 said that they got excited when they saw a tiger line (the line of hair that runs from your chest down the middle of your stomach leading to that wonderful sacred area).

Armpits
94 women said they found it odd when a man didn't have hair under his pits. Almost all expected some kind of bush to be at the pit of a man's arms. So although it's okay to trim, shaving or waxing it all off does not come highly recommended.

We could do this all day, so are you prepared yet to retract your claim that it's "true" that there's a "clear majority" one way?

The argument could easily go broader as well, especially since you brought up ancient statues, as opinions on it have changed not just over time but from culture to culture.

Yes they do but that picture is not an iconic standard of male beauty, was never meant to be.

Scraping the bottom are we now? I could list all the details from all the studies I posted too you know.

The studies indicate not only do women vary within their answers but they also vary based on hormones, pregnant or not pregnant, age and menstrual status. I'm sure you'd also see significant swings across cultures and time periods.

All of which implies, by the way, that the answer a woman gives at any given time as to her opinion on body hair is being influenced by more than just "pure aesthetics."

However, you are the one touting your opinion as objective fact, and not only that, but extending that backwards into antiquity for all humans, so...

The whole ancient world got together and took a poll on which statues represented male beauty?

The stories that were written of great beauties or the lovers of the Emperors for whom statues were made were clean shaven.

Oscar Wilde's Dorian Grey was clean shaven.

The first male sex symbol St Sebastian was clean shaven ,

And so was the first Hollywood male sex symbol Rudolph Valentino.
