Maybe I really do feel disconnected from them because they're "too attractive for me to ever hope to attain", but I don't really think that's the case.

I have some really attractive (platonic) friends. A few of them actually are models and exotic dancers and whatnot. And I don't feel they're "out of my league". Were I inclined (if I felt differently about them, or if I were straight for the females), I wouldn't mind hitting on them. Maybe they'd all turn me down, but I don't think that's a foregone conclusion.

That said, when I see their modeling pictures or watch them perform...how to put it? I find them attractive the same way I find the pictures you posted attractive. I'm no longer seeing Mike. I'm seeing Mike in the role of "object of attraction". I can still enjoy it, and yeah, it can still make me horny. But it's almost in an abstract, "removed" sort of way. Again, I don't feel like "Well, now Mike is out of my league because he's really hot in this picture". Because the second I see him again outside of that context, he's back to being "Mike". And in that context, I can find him attractive in the same way I find geloge, MLC, etc attractive. (And yes, he's smooth. )

I'll up one and say I'm happy with whatever the person with the hair wants. It's their choice. Shaving your chest/back hair because you personally don't want it is nothing to be ashamed of.

And when folks press those buttons, it makes it seem as though they're saying that smoothness is so horrible that one should only have it if they have no other choice. No bueno.

I could not agree more, personal choice, though in fairness, i have seen no post saying that no-one should not shave, if they so desire.

I've had an epiphany! Turns out you are right about everything. Being hairy is everything that's noble in this world and I'm the arch villain in all this out to shave everyone.

From now on David is not the standard of male beauty, Phillip is. The sex symbol status of St Sebastian, Rudolph Valentino, Salman Khan and other clean shaven men throughout history did not ever exist and neither do hairless models.
