I have a question about the proper course of action in a somewhat delicate situation I found myself in this morning at my store, for if it ever happens again.
Good morning everyone. How y'all doin' this morning?

So I had this young guy (in his 20s) in my convenience store, early this morning, during the 6.00am hour. Now I admit, I do take notice of the cuter guys who come in. But I'm always professional about it, with me never allowing it to go any further than just a thought in my head of, 'Oh, he's hawt!', etc. Well, he gets several things, and gets up to my counter. Well, now, understand >> In my line of work, I'm looking down at the items on the counter as I ring them up. As such, I happen to have a direct line of sight to people's crotches. I mean, it's right there...especially when I go from looking at the counter to raising my head up to look at the customer as they get their money together to pay me.
So he gets up to the counter and I happen to notice that his fly is open. And I don't mean just halfway. I'm talking about completely unzipped with the fabric of his blue jeans parted open just barely (you couldn't seen anything, but just a black shadow).
So, I'm trying to be professional and avert my eyes, all the while debating inside my head whether I should tell him or not. Ultimately, I decide to let sleeping dogs lie, and keep my mouth shut about it.
My questions to you all...
A >> Was I correct in not saying anything to the customer, and just basically pretend I didn't see what I saw?
B >> If you ever saw a guy whose fly was open in public, would you tell him or gently whisper to him (so as not to embarass him) to zip it up?
And C >> If you WERE that guy whose fly was open, would you want someone to let you know?
For Question C, my answer for me would be Yes. BUT, when you have a job that deals with the public, you have to be very careful about stuff like this, so as not to unintentionally offend any paying customers, in situations like this one.
What would you do? Would love to hear some thoughts on it.
Thanks!
