Re: Eurovision

SEVERINA from CROATIA!

She is the most famous woman in Balcan!
She is like MADONNA here in this part of Europe!

Although Severina Vuckovic's granddad is Serb, she's not the most famous woman in Balkan :) What about Ceca Raznatovic,Serbian folk star. She was interviewed for BBC :P

Re: Eurovision

I'm a fan of the ESC too! I've been watching it since 2002!
I watch it both for the music and for the entertianment though...every year there are gonna be some clowns! EVERY YEAR! But amongst the loads of shit there are some great songs/performers every year..

'06 was a funny year! The worst entry was BY FAR Las Ketchup! They were mind-numbingly horrible!! They CAN'T SING AT ALL for starters, they're ugly and completely unsynchronised! Oh, and the song sucked ass too!" Un Bloody Mary por favor " my ass... The weird guys without any music or instruments kinda sucked too..but not as bad as Las Ketchup! I also didn't like Germany (what the heck???That Dolly Parton-wannabe and her cowboys actually thought they'd win?!), Belgium (Kate Ryan may have a good voice and a fairly good song but she looked like a porn star! Sorry but that's the first thing that crossed my mind when I saw her!)

Iceland was creepy and carp-tastic with Sylvia Night...(like a mutated zombie version of Marie Antoinette?!). What else is there to diss? Oh and the "We are the winners of Eurovision!" group (Latvia?) sent me up the walls too!!!

I liked: Sweden (I wanted HER to win!) : one heck of a voice and I also liked the song too. Greece : BIG voice but the stage presence was kinda weird. Still, I loved it! (Still in love, still in love, still in loooooooooove...). I also LOVED Romania (this guy's voice is surreal! He's got one of the best male voices I've ever heard!), Norway (she had the voice of an angel and I loved the folklore-inspired ballad "Elven Dances"...it sounded more like an Irish entry though!), Ukraine (she kinda reminded me of Shakira in terms of singing style and looks!) and Russia (cute guy with a nice sulty voice...not too bad a song either!) and of course LORDI from Finnland! Everyone kept rambling about "the monsters" and giving them sh*t and calling them satanists and stuff...but I liked them!! The song ROCKED! It's time Europe woke up and adapted to the new age...I'm sick of hearing trashy bubblegum pop on the Contest! Seriously, you can usually tell if a song is a Eurovision song cos there seems to be a specifically Eurovision-designed- trash-pop genre!

Re: Eurovision

Do you know/have you heard of any of this year's entrants? '07 I'm talking about!!
I only know for Greece...we're sending Tamta, she's a young popular singer who rose to fame pretty recently, like 3 years ago or so, through a talent show. She's cute and has a very good voice too...so if they give her a decent song she may actually have some fair chances!

Re: Eurovision

I quite like France's this year. It's their most interesting entry in a while.

Can't say who's popular right now, so I can just say that my favourites at this stage are

Israel - absolutely barmy, but I like the ska sound
France - good mix of franglais
Bulgaria - very different, good traditional sound
Ireland - nice little oirish song, as good as Brian Kennedy last year, will do well
Cyprus - brilliant, really infectious beat and charasmatic singer
Swden - goofy, old fashioned, but I like it

Can't say I'm proud of our UK entry at all this year. They had about 3 or 4 perfectly good songs to choose from this year and they picked a dumb, gimmicky piece of crap. It's one of the novelty efforts that won't stand out and SCOOCH CAN'T SING.

Re: Eurovision

Oooops ! Sorry for the misinformation ! Greece's representative will after all NOT be Tamta, but a young guy named Sarbel and his song "Yassou Maria" (Ave Maria). I quite like it . Here in Greece it's already become a big hit, especially in clubs. It's a greek-infused rock/oriental/latin song that kinda reminds me a little bit of Ricky Martin...the singer is ok, he has a good voice and a decent stage presence...I think he's gonna make it into the top 10 at least .

So far I've seen a few entries....

I know Eurydice will be representing Cyprus and I'm all for her, evenn though I haven't yet heard the song. She's just a great voice and writes great songs !

And I actually LIKE this year's Swiss entry ! I hope they don't get last place again as they usually do I(or at least, almost last !) cos every year they send the most stupid songs. But this year I like the song !!

I've seen Belarus' entry, "Work Your Magic", cute guy and catchy song...

I also like the Slovenian (I THINK) entry...it's a woman that sings an opera-like song...

But I HATE "Water" . Whose entry is this ? I think it's Bulgaria ...I can't stand it...techno-whatever music/beat, along with that woman going "Oiiiiimmmmmmmmmhhhhmmmmmmm" and stuff....what the heck ?!

Re: Eurovision

Dude, you qouted last years UK entry.

This is this yers entry for the UK:

I know I was reminding the poster of last years Eurovision song as the new one seemed to overshadow it. I'm kinda saying look what's comming out for you guys each year and so jokingly I say split the eurovision song like you guys do with sport.

Eric Papilaya - Get alive. This song will represent Austria in the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 in Helsinki and will also be the official Life Ball Song 2007.
The song has to achieve a top-ten ranking (on May 10) so that Austria can participate in the final of the largest European music competition, which takes place this year in the Helsinki Arena on May 12.

Re: Eurovision

Well, I have to say, I am a bit of a fan of Eurovision. It does make me laugh, and it's about the only time I will allow myself to be a bit camp! :) Terry does make the show with his comments.
Looking forward to the final this year. I know most people think that the UK entry is a load of old toot... but you know what, I think it's very Eurovision orientated... bit cheeky, and annoyingly catchy. I reckon we could do well.
And it's been 10 years since we last won with Katrina and the Waves, so it's about time we did.
If anyone is interested, take a look at the latest issue of gnstyle (www.gnstyle.co.uk), they've got a Eurovision specal.

Re: Eurovision

Ukraine's official video for the entry:

The end gets quite risque :D
