I don't think so.
Mid 70s to mid 80s is when the term really really took hold- certainly in the medical and academic world, along with transgender people themselves taking it on. Christine Jorgensen was publicly using it from the mid 70s onwards in all public engagements and the supportive press even took to it around then.
Is that true for all those you mention?
I have never seen anyone describe it as having anything to do with their sexuality/sex.
