[explicative!] 30 second earthquake just now

Could be worse. I know someone who traveled to Patagonia and stayed in Chile when the second biggest earthquake ever recorded hit. What an experience THAT would be!

More perspective: this quake was a little stronger than the quake in Haiti.

Having never experienced an earthquake, I'm curious to know what you guys felt. Was it a side-to-side motion, an up-and-down movement, a heavy vibration, or similar to having a heavy truck drive by the house...or what?

I went through an earthquake in 1984 and never knew it. The earthquake was a magnitude 4.somethingorother located in the Medicine Bow Mountains in Wyoming. I was in college in Chemistry Lab, on the second floor of a poured concrete building in Northern Colorado. Never felt a thing, but most of my friends did ... those who were still in bed said it felt like someone shaking the bed, or a train going by.

^^ I had it few years back and it was like 2 in the morning. I'd heard this loud rumbling noise coming towards me about a min before the ground below me shook. It got louder and louder and shook violently for like 10 secs or so and then moved forward. It's was scary.

I am sure the prophet of the GOP (God's Only Party) Pat Robertson will deliver his sermon on how gays are responsible for the earthquake.

I felt it! It was long!!! I felt nauseous afterwards. I hope this isn't the prelude to a bigger one in LA.

Hmm, that's funny. Usually when I feel something really long I feel horny afterwards, and look forward to the bigger one in LA. :p
