Fag: Does It Offend You?

Yes, I find it offensive in every context. But then, I am sufficiently old and stuffy that I still don't like Queer. No mater how many Queer Studies programs there are out there, it still makes me snarl.
 
I don't much care for the word, but I'm not gonna kick somebody's ass if they use it to refer to me. So... yeah.
 
1. It's an ugly word.
2. When guys insult one another using "fag" it makes me a little mad.

I find it offensive and tend not to use it.
 
Because someone painted that on my locker in High School, it used to bother me a lot.

But, I've since learned that: words only have power over you if you let them, you're in control of how they effect (affect?) you.

So, while I still don't like it, I know how to keep it from upsetting me.
 
It's not about the word but the way you say it or the way you mean it.
