Favorite Gay Movie?

Watched "Clapham Junction" yesterday on Here! It is quite merciless, but also engrossing, and (surprise!) involves a number of well-known U.K. actors.

I found some trailers:

Big Eden

Lilies

Big Eden kind of surprised me - it's a little sentimental overkill sometimes, but also funny. Lilies is presented in a really interesting way, but so sad that it is almost hard to watch sometimes.

My top ten:

1) Trick (1999)
2) Latter Days (2003)
3) The Ritz (1976)
4) Jeffrey (1995)
5) Eating Out 2 (2006)
6) Newcastle (2008)
7) Tearoom (1962) shocking movie!
8) C.R.A.Z.Y (2005)
9) Torch Song Trilogy (1988)
10) Making Love (1982)

I have several hundred gay theme movies.

There was this movie on Logo, I can't remember the name of it, but it was about a man who had a wife and two children and started to think he was gay. He started fooling around with his son's best friend, until one time he got caught by his son. Then his son wouldn't talk to either of them and it just went down from there.

It was a good movie, I just can't remember the name.

I think you mean Mulligans. Good movie.

I can only think of 4 gay themed movies that I have seen.

Brokeback Mountain - I was bored senseless for most of it. There were some pretty sad parts though

Were the World Mine - It was really good. The music was fantastic. Timothy had a beautful voice. I wish they spent a little more time on the relationship pre and post pansy-squirt between the two leads though (for those who haven't seen it, that was probably a pretty odd sentence ).

Big Eden - Sorry, I thought this movie was terrible. I didn't find it belevable that this guy had two people infatuated with him. And it's not only because he wasn't good-looking, I also didn't find his personality that great either. What did they see in him that was so wonderful? Also, the Native American guy was kind of creepy in his quiet obsession with the lead.

Shelter - ...oh Shelter, Shelter, Shelter, what can I say?...it was so good it hurt. Story, scenery, music. Just beautiful.

These ones .....

And I guess you could call this one 'gay-themed' as well. Saw the stage version 3 times and the movie, countless times! Love it!!! ....

I thought 'My Beautiful Laundrette' was a waste of time. Didn't find Daniel Day Lewis believable in that part at all.

The film left me nauseaous and depressed for days.
Me too, but I still thought it was brilliant .... gritty & powerful. And didn't Alex have a beautiful looking boner!! That wanking scene of his at the beginning of the movie left me feeling aroused for days after!!! ;)

I have started to watch some of these films being mentioned.

After getting Shelter and falling in love with it twelve months ago, I now finally have started to see other gay themed movies.

We (bf and me), watched Latter Days the other night and enjoyed it.
Last night we watched Beautiful Thing and enjoyed that too.

Were the world mine is next.

But after that ......... I'll have to go back in this thread and choose one.

I love this thread.

And as is bluntly obvious I absolutely adore Were The World Mine
Before I saw that movie I thought I was incapable of crying, but when Timothy reluctantly sang that Sleep Sound song and sadly said goodbye, I think I recall a tear falling. It was a great movie. Bought the soundtrack on iTunes.

My stupid High School was nothing like that. lol

It isn't gay themed, per se, but if movies like Mommie Dearest count, Drop Dead Gorgeous is the best damn gay movie of all time.
